I thought that since there are a few amv vid thread with very few posts that I would start a thread where people can post any vids they made and people can post comments.

Say Nothing At All- Lip synching could have been better and some of the clips didn't quite line up but I like the song.

Life Got Cold- I thought the clips matched the tone of the song quite well.

coltsnakes's vids- my opinions

Heaven tribute: Some of the scenes didn't line up, they were too slow for the music.

Squall and Rinoa: Better, but you still have the same problem. The tone/speed of the clips is noticebly different to the music.
eg. slow scenes do not go with fast music and vice versa.


This is what I made today. They're both to My Oh My by Aqua, but the first one is with FF9 footage and I was matching the lyrics; while the second one was me using X-2 footage to lip-synch the song.

This is a cool vid. The clips and the music work together much better. I adore the song although I'm used to a live version which sounds different.
Piece of Youtube advice: keeping the tags to a minimum increases the vids ranking on the search engine because they're more relevant.

VIII vid- Not bad, the timing was right and the mood fitted but you did repeat some clips. The beginning of the Ice Strike came up 3 times.

X vid- Very good considering what little you had to work with. I like the song. Minus the repetition of some bits, it was quite good. If you want I can tell you where you can get some more footage. Also, I only counted the ending FMV, what's the second one?

I think the FMV I used for X was just the ending video, but I downloaded it as ending part 1 and ending part 2, so I counted it as two different vids. I never actually finished FFX so I'm not sure whether they were two different FMVs or not.

And I would love to know where to get some more clips - I have searched all over the internet for some but all I managed was to find a bunch of FFVIII ones, and everyone I've asked has only suggested illegal ways to get them.

starseeker - Its been a while since I watched any of the Final Fantasy clips. The song was so haunting and alluring that even though some of the sync seemed a little weird the scenes coexisting with the music just made it kind of fit together ( especially the beginning ). / I watched the Maneater one. LOL Good take on the sexy persona each of the girls have.

Yuffie - I watched the Hollaback girl one. I giggled seeing the girls in action to Gwen's voice. The part with Riku in the beginning was perfect. I also watched the Vindaloo video. I LOVE THIS SONG and the video captures the music well too. Good choice of scenes.

Jester - For the Last Order one - Ooh. I like the song choice a LOT for this song but that might be slightly biased cause I'm a HUGE Disturbed fan. About a minute and thirty seconds in to it, the music was pieced well with that scene. Good job. - The Kadaj Tribue - Good song choice again. "You carry on like a holy man -" That scene was posed well.

Colt - I watched the one labeled "Pure Final Fantasy" At about fifty seconds in to the song - that really caught my eye. The moment's between lyrics seemed well done / intresting enough to keep the watcher's interest while waiting for things to pick up again. I can't say I like the song choice but that's purely personal.

Reno is my man - O.o You are incredibly talented. Buttons made me bust a gut laughing. I LOVED it. Your Maneater AMV was so amazing. I squealed like a fangirl for Quistis in the beginning. Random Reno at 34 seconds in to it with THAT face. Wow. Yeah, I'm a YouTuber and I subscribed instantly. <3333

Ifrit - I particularly likes Supermassive Black Hole. The aging technique you used seemed to fit really well and I REALLY enjoyed the beginning. The choice of scenes you used created this neat spiral effect that I was sad to see in but it picked back up nicely. Very talented.

Dagger - I ADORE this song and while I'm not the biggest fan of all the scene style in IX, you did such a good job with it that I honestly enjoyed rewatching it. Many thumbs up.

Yeah, sorry for the videos I didn't have time to watch or any other creators that I might have skipped over by accident. n_n;; Erhm. Yeah. I make AMVs too but nothing FF related so I won't link ( that and most my stuff is by MSI so linking to the music would be a no no on this site I do believe )

So you're saying you want the FMV scenes from the games? Bluelaguna.net is a good place to start. Filefront.net is also good for bulk downloads.
Or if you want to get the footage legally, then you need to rip it off the disc, which I can't remember how to do. Animemusicvideos.org has a good selection of help guides for that sort of thing.
