I've been extremely interested in Instrumental songs recently, I have so far.

Metallica: Anasthesia, Call of Ktulu, Orion, To Live is To Die and Dirty Window

Megadeth: Vortex, and Into The Lungs of Hell.

I have others by other bands somewhere.

Does anyone else here like instrumental? Any recommendations? Btw I prefer fast thrashy songs.

Micheal Angelo Batio - No Boundries.

You should listen to John Frusciante's album 'Usually Just a T-Shirt'. It's mostly instrumental, though it's not quite Thrash Metal, it's still interesting stuff.

Have you heard Micheal Angelo's "Speed kills"? that one is pretty awesome too.

EDIT:.....I feel stupid now.

It's the same song Venom.

Edit: You should, but don't worry, easy mistake, the album is called guitar gods, look into it, good for inst' music.

No, they're different.
Though I still prefer No Boundries.
Especially after it was on Burnt Face Man.

Though, Speed Kills does kind of sound like it could be an intro to No Boundries, now that I listen to it again.

Speed Kills and Speed Lives were the names of Batio's lesson tapes, there were different versions of No Boundries on each, that's why they're easily mistaken as seperate songs, Speed Kills is basically a 1-2 minute version of No Boundries. Just way too many similarities and not enough differences to call them all seperate songs though.

I have Moby Dick, live with the extended drum solo at the end, it kicks ass.

Freight Train was the one Batio used his 4 way freak guitar on. It wasn't instrumental though.

Call Of Ktulu by Metallica is a great instrumental song. The S&M version is even better imo with the added orchestra.

I prefer Orion to the Call of Ktulu.

Try the instrumental version of Grace Jones' "Slave to the Rhythm." It's stunning! It is called "Hot Blooded Version."

I've heard that before, Chirs, it's pretty kickass, if it were faster it would be invincible, but GJ doesn't suit Thrash fast though.

I got Van Halen - Eruption, cool stuff there.

Ahh, yes, so true, their stuff is rather grand, also Exlposions In The Sky, but they are hardly Speedy or thrashy, they are just pure instrumental beauty, anyone that says otherwise probably has a short attention span.

Quoted for utmost truth my friend. Explosions is musical bliss :)

EDIT: May I also add a band I've discovered recently, called Moonsorrow. It's definetly instrument driven, very majestic and frankly beautiful viking metal. Check out the song Jotunheim or Pimeae to see why.
