I usually listen to a wide variety of music, but lately I have been trying to expand my musical tastes even further. Some bands I have been starting to listen to for the first time: Trivium, Thrice, Evans Blue, Opeth, Atreyu, DragonForce, Protest the Hero, Porcupine Tree, Killswitch Engage, and Dream Theater. So what bands have you started listening to or been introduced to through a friend or other means?

Im enjoying Fall Out Boy. I was told they were an emo band, so I avoided them. Till I heard Dance, Dance in HMV and was like they sound wicked! But they arent emo, they sound like punk pop or something.

They are Emo. But Dance, Dance is a pretty good track.

Anyway, new bands, new bands... Freezepop and The Red Army Choir would be the newest I've found. Going back a little further, gregoRy and the hawK, The Fall Of Troy, and Panic! At The Disco.

Thats what I thought. I was expecting something heavy like Chemical Romance, but most of FOB tracks are upbeaty and cool.

O yeah, I forgot about Killswitch Engage. I'm really starting to get into the screaming type stuff (Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, etc..). I used to not be able to stand those type of bands at all, but I'm now starting to look past just the vocals and starting to listen more to the music. Vocals are still a big thing for me, but not as much as they used to be.

Lacuna Coil. I been meaning to listen to them for awhile, and I finally got around to listening to all of thier stuff. I normally don't like Metal stuff all that much, but they pull it off in a cool way.

Dangit! I forgot about Lacuna Coil to. I really like the lead singer's voice, much better than Amy Lee's imo. Can't wait to see this band along with all the other great ones at Ozzfest in july. Probably going to be one of the best concerts I have ever gone to, next to the Audioslave concert I went to last year.

Fall Out Boy don't call themselves emo. So unless you know something about their genre they don't, I don't think they are. They call themselves Pop Punk.

Demons and Angels all in one have arrived...." :D

I also gotten into SOAD lately, never before listened to them, but then I heard their song,"Psycho".

That song is....wow.

That slowish build up from the start, and then "Psycho groupie cocaine crazy psycho groupie coke, makes you high makes you high makes you really wanna GO-STOP!".....that really got me..

Yeah, Dream Theater for me. Those dudes are pretty cool. I keep MEANING to listen to more of Panic! At the Disco, but I am forgetful and they don't interest me all THAT much. And I've also been a fan of Led Zep, but recently, ever since I obtained most of their cds, I've been playing them a lot more, and appreciating them a lot more. :D

Lately it's a lot of The Allmans and a lot of Franz Ferdinand. Maybe someday soon it'll be more Death Cab for Cutie and more of I forgot what I was saying. Radiohead, that's what I was gonna say. Or I might try some more Government Mule, cause I like them. Or I might do some of these bands I read about in here all the time, especially Dream Theater. I can't go anyplace without hearing about them.

I like Panic! At the Disco, but I still don't know why. Also, I really want to listen to O.A.R even though I've only heard one or two songs. A friend at work tried to get me into The Fray, and that might work yet.

HORSE the Band (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HORSE_the_Band). Hilarious "Nintendocore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendocore)" band that seriously makes me giggle. Especially when I was watching Mulholland Dr. a few days ago and finally found out where the voice samples from the beginning and end of Purple came from XD
