Has anyone here ever played what they call the Beta Quest for Ocarina of Time? It was a Gameshark code that allowed you to get into the beta test version of the game. I used to do it all the time with my N64 and Gameshark, but I recently have gotten back into doing it, except this time one my N64 Emulator on my computer. There are some things in the Beta Quest that weren't there in the final version, I wish the Triforce was, but alas, it is not. It's amazing some of the things you can find on there. I figured I'd also post some screenshots I took not too long ago, I'm just posting the links so as to not take up that much space on here, but check them out. The best thing about the N64 emulator gameshark is you can stop, put in codes, and activate/deactivate them whenever you like, which basically leads to easier play with the hexidecimal coding.

As you can see there are several things wrong with some of these pics, such as Saria's Fairy, but no Saria, a different Fire Temple emblem, it is also in the wrong place, Adult Link fighting Gohma, A misplaced door in the Ice Cavern, a strange pedestal in the Ice Cavern, The Gods, The light around the Master Sword Pedestal, but no one at it, and also the end of the game screen with Adult Link and Young Zelda, and the end of the game party at Lon Lon Ranch in which I was able to walk around at. I also had a few more of me in the Sage's Chamber, walking around, but I don't know where they are, and I'll probably upload them later if I find them or take more screenshots.

I remember a site I used to go to talking about the beta quest stuff, though it's been a while since I've heard anything about it.

You should d/l an Emulator and the Rom and play around with it. It's pretty entertaining.

I don't have a site, I just host images on there, but they're showing up perfectly fine on my PC. If anyone else has any problems seeing these images, let me know.

None of them work after image 4.

I managed to see them all before the site went down for some reason. Geocities can be strange at times, so I'd suggest you just use another site for hosting, such as Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/).

Anyway, that's pretty interesting.

All the pictures seem to be working fine, but it's odd. While it's called the beta-quest, when I look at the pictures you provide, it looks more like walking throug cut-scenes. Of course, I have done the beta-quest myself. It seems more like a de-bugger quest. Each door is set to something very far away, so you can walk easily from place to place as long as you have a good guide. And of course, some doors are linked to beta-quest things. Like a huge version of hyrule town. o_O Forgot how I got there, though.

Anyway, thanks for the pictures. n.n

Ok, I uploaded all of the pics to my photobucket and edited my first post. So if you weren't able to see them before, check them out.

Hellz yeh, you can see some strange and interesting /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif. I mean, for a game that took forever to come out, even without the Gameshark, this game had a huge amount of glitches and bugs in it. I mean, I love games with extras like this, and games with crazy glitches in them, as long as they don't get in the way of regular gameplay. I think the glitches and bugs, as well as the "Beta Quest" add a whole lot more to the replay value.
