Why have those website layouts that involved image mapping a ton of little PNG files that were each about 55kb and there's probably about twenty of them, making it about four minutes for a site to load at best, and they all showed up one at a time, so you'd get to say 'oh, there's this guy's head! and his shoulders! what the crap, why are his feet there? oh, there's the torso'
I mean, this is the sort of time that they'd actually almost be practical. Back a couple of years ago when they were big, I know I was still on dialup.
What web fads have you noticed missing lately?

P2P killed of "Warez" sites. Yes, they were illegal, but there was a real sense of achievement when you got past all the pop-ups, porno and "press this button one, then this button once" nonsense and actually reached your goal. Now you just find a torrent or search for it. Where's the fun in that?

MySpace is the worst showcase of coding I have ever seen on a major website. It's atrocious. I can't even load some of the pages on occasion. They're horrible. Ugh.
Sorry, slightly off-topic rant, that was. Uhm. Fad that's missing. Uhm. I know of a fad that's been missing... missing like a fox!
Those tiny little x's for navigation and the cross for a cursor.

Punctuation, capitalization, taking the time to type entire words...
Myspace. It's useful to keep in touch with people and for networking but there is something about it that just drives me mad about it. :jess:
