So I've completed FFX once, just about with a lower "level" party than I realised. But I was wondering how to extend the longevity of the game, apart from the whole 100% completion thing. I found a nice list actually.

NSG - No Sphere Grid. Don't activate a single node on the Sphere Grid.

NS - No Summon. Don't summon an aeon. Except for the four forced Summons.

NC - No Customise. Don't use the "Customise" ability in the menu. You are
allowed to upgrade a Celestial Weapon to their full power, though.

NO - No Overdrives. Don't use overdrives, except for the two forced ones.

NE - No Escape. Don't escape from a single battle.

NNE - No [No Encounters]. Don't use the weapon/armour ability [No Encounters]

NBB - No Blitzball. Don't play Blitzball for rare items.

But I'm going for a Single Character Challenge. Maybe Tidus first I reckon. But I have this fascination with the water-loving characters Tidus, Wakka and Rikku. I might just power them up and see how it goes. Anima will probably be very difficult but it'll be interesting. So probably a TWR challenge for me.

NSG is the hardest of them all, the rest seem pretty easy...

Or combining some of 'em. Or do Necro's apparently impossible challenge. :p

NSGNANC, No sphere grid, no aeons, no customise challenge

And it is possible. It's the hardest one, I think. I have never tried it, because the game has ultimate bosses (nemesis and since I live in Europe Dark Aeons and Penance), it's hard enough.

You can complete the game without using Attack-command, without using any magic or with using only the Attack command.

NBB - No Blitzball. Don't play Blitzball for rare items.

But I'm going for a Single Character Challenge.

NS/NO: Defeats the purpose of the challenge, if you have to use it even for one battle and completely possible, not much different from a normal game.

NE/NNE/NBB: That's what most people do throughout a normal game. They don't run (and they shouldn't), No Encounters is a waste of time to get (unless it drops by itself), and most people find Blitzball so boring, that they don't bother with it. It's what I do when I play through the game, although inadvertantly.

Single character challenge does not work, since there is no point in the game where only one character is present the entire time. It would essentially turn into a two character challenge, which isn't different in difficulty from most challenges.

Note the word DIFFICULTY, which is NOT the same as "is."

Challenges are a complete waste of time, and 100% is better. But if you MUST, as though you couldn't squeeze out 300 hours with the content that they give you, try NSGIENC, the only one worth doing.

No Sphere Grid, Inital Equipment, No Customization.
Of course, Necronopticous tried this before and failed, much to the dismay of the forums...

NSGNANC, No sphere grid, no aeons, no customise challenge

You can complete the game without using Attack-command, without using any magic or with using only the Attack command.

NSGNANC is possible, and is nothing compared to NSGIENC.
No, you can't because the tutorial battle at Besaid force you to use both. If it were attack only, then you would only have three characters that you use, and it would be likely that you would fail miserably because of the lack of development of the other characters, especially in certain parts of the game where you would use your weaker characters, or if they start out in a battle. Magic can't be done because not everyone has magic.

man that's super awesome, it just feels great to do this, it also feels true and natural to the story. I'll try this out soon very soon.

I did the NSG challenge... took me a while to beat jecht, you have to get ur timing just right, but apart from that it was pretty easy. It was actually fun not having to ever use the sphere grid... shaves many many hours off the game time.

what do you mean by this challange??

NSG is probably one of the easiest challanges around. the initial equipment challange is probably my fav... but someone needs to put together a list of all the challanges and ppl should come and tick them off after they have completed them. just to see who has conqoured what etc.

I did that my first playthrough o_O It's really not that hard, they heal him for about 3000 on their turns, which is nothing compared to the damage you should be dealing out every round.

Too me this seems too hard.
