Not sure if this an appropriate topic or not, guess the mods will let me know. Anyway as most of you I'm sure heard the ps3 is either 500 or 600 dollars, which is a ridiculous amount of money. Anyway was thinkin of sellin one on Ebay if I can get my hands on one, are any of you gonna do that, what type of money do you think I might get on one if it's worth it or not, thanx.

If your buying it brand new, your going to lose out.
People aren't going to pay full price for it on e-bay. You'd probably get around $400-450.

If there are shortages then it should go for quite a bit more on ebay than it would at stores.

Apparantly there were Xbox 360's selling for more than $2000 on eBay close to launch.

With those prices, I don't think there will be a shortage, really :p. You could say that Sony has overcharged it already, adding even more to the price at eBay will be too much.

If you divide the customers into two groups, average and rich:
The average customers will think it is too much, and wait for a price drop. That would allow all of the rich customers to buy it in stores, instead of going on eBay as they would if the average customers could afford it and thus making a shortage.

Tut tut.

And I think that the fact that there were people who could spend over $2000 on a Xbox 360, yet weren't desperate enough to pre-order it first means that there are more than enough stupid people willing to pay high prices on a new console.

Way to read the actual posts in the thread before posting.

I know what the thread said, you dweeb, I justp osted that because it kinda had to do with the topic and I thought it was funny. How about at least MINORLY contribute to threads rather than argue with me, which is what I see you do in every post you make.

How about both of you cut it out and get back to the topic, ok? Great.

 I do not see what MK is saying. It was amusing. That is all.

On-topic. If there are shortages (And it is Sony, so there almost certainly will be shortages) you could profit immensely. If there are no shortages, you'll almost certainly not make any money from it. It's a risk, but then again even if it goes wrong, you'll have a PS3.

I'm in agreement with MILF on this one. Unless you don't want to be stuck with a PS3, this is really a win/win situation. Either you make a load of cash, or you get a system you wanted anyway.

Unlike the 360, I don't seriously see Sony undershipping that much, so you may end up stuck with it

The 360 was in shortage mostly due to manufacturing and supply setbacks. The PS3 may launch very successfully, but the higher price will certainly keep demand from becoming absolutely ludicrous.

Since the Xbox 360 did so well on ebay, due to shortages, everyone and their mother thinks they can become a millionaire by ebaying a PS3.

Me thinks there will be way too many PS3's on ebay which means they wont be that 'rare' to get.

And how come no one ever talks about ebaying a Wii?

Cause the Wii will be cheap and easy to get.

The PS3 will most likely sell out in the first couple of days, so I would imagine that it will be selling quite high on ebay.

I hear people whining and saying the PlayStation3 costs too much, so how it sell out the first couple of days??? Doesn't make sense. If you ask me, they'll have plenty of them waiting to be bought, I mean, not a lot, but a reasonable amount. All I know is, I'm getting mine from the store, not from stupid ebay.

Theres enough people willing to pay the full price for it to sell out on launch.

Oh ok, true that. but I'll be getting it no matter what, besides there are 50 million stores in NYC:cool:

All I know is that I'm going to win by buying it half a year (or more) later. Cheaper, and better, because most bugs would be fixed. First generation always sux.

Exactly why it isn't a win/win situation for me. I don't want the first gen system cause they always have bugs, and the ps2 is the most heaping, godless, piece of crap ever unearthed in the history of the universe so I'm not too eager to have a first gen of it for 600 dollars, when I can get one that will work better later for less hopefully. I would like to make money off it, and if it doesn't look like I can make money off ebay, I could I guess return it and get my money back. Fucking sony, where do they get off charging 600 bucks for anything, especially something that will undoubtibly mess up within in two years, or just after the warranty expires, man nintendo came out for like 200 bucks with two controllers and mario, those were the days.
