I have to admit a Final Fantasy 8 movie would probably make an excellent addition to the newly growing number of FF movies. First of all, I was really going for the western actors. I just don't think they have the features, except for the eyes and hair color. The japanese actors have the facial features for it. Actually, /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gifty "buck off a script" movie making has shown. RE (though Apocalypse was far too Mary Sue for my tastes) shows that VG scripts CAN be done well.
Also, the Live DB was a foreign knockoff of the first major DB arc, and no one related to DB sanctioned it.
The live action Stars must refer to the Sera Myus musicals, which run the gamut from great to mind numbing. All are amusing as hell, though.

Though I doubt FF8 would work as a movie (unless it's a sequel). I say 6-13 episode series, 24 if we wanna be comprehensive about everything. That should get just about all the plot and plot battles.

They got Americans and Canadians to do the acting, but Sunrise Bandai was responsible for most all of the rest. I can't check the exact ratio, since my DVD is currently halfway across state (I'm house sitting at the moment and all I brought aside from essentials was a laptop bag), but S-B was the top dog.


Also most animes have characters that are blonde and blue eyed. and pale skin.

And Pink Haired, And Blue Haired, and Red Eyed. Though speaking of pale skin, have you ever taken a look at really old Japanese artwork? Everyone has pale skin, even if all the rest of the colors are spot on. It's an asthetic thing.
For example, Ranma 1/2. Except for the Chinese, everyone is explicitly Japanese. Ranma has Blue eyes, and half the time red hair. Shampoo, chinese, has purple hair and purple eyes.
YUA, the very japanese (and despite appearances male) Aoi has Blue eyes.

Sailor Moon has Blonde eyed Blue Eyed Usagi, and her purple haired mom, blue haired Ami, Black with Purple Highlights Rei, etc. etc. All of these characters are supposed to be japanese.
Fruits Basket has the bright orange haired Kyo, purple eyed Yuki, etc.
Ouran High Host Club stars all japanese people. There are four blonde members of the regular cast.
There are a lot of blonde japanese in Anime. It's one of those odd things.


Some of them. but most of them protray western characters.

A lot of currently popular anime does portray westerners, yes, but there's a lot more that either stars N/A, or asians. This is counting all of the echelons though, and then there's halfbreed characters like Asuka, who really skew the margin.


If I recall watching america's next top model. They went to Japan and this Japanese woman commented "The japanese wish to have eyes,hair and skin like that" She was directing that towards the pale white,blonde and blue eyed model.

Oh, totally. But it's not a new thing. Again, look at ancient japanese art. Everyone was pale, and you'd occasionally get white haired maidens. It was a sign of nobility, IIRC. They basically thought themselves the white race, and the the west came and they had a bit of culture shock to find people more lily white than they were. Of course, with intermingling now, there's a decent chance a lot of them will. Might take another few generations for prevalency, though.

That thing about the Gundam movie. Either that was done in english or they had western actors come and perform it in Japanese.

They got Americans and Canadians to do the acting, but Sunrise Bandai was responsible for most all of the rest. I can't check the exact ratio, since my DVD is currently halfway across state (I'm house sitting at the moment and all I brought aside from essentials was a laptop bag), but S-B was the top dog.


Also most animes have characters that are blonde and blue eyed. and pale skin.

And Pink Haired, And Blue Haired, and Red Eyed. Though speaking of pale skin, have you ever taken a look at really old Japanese artwork? Everyone has pale skin, even if all the rest of the colors are spot on. It's an asthetic thing.
For example, Ranma 1/2. Except for the Chinese, everyone is explicitly Japanese. Ranma has Blue eyes, and half the time red hair. Shampoo, chinese, has purple hair and purple eyes.
YUA, the very japanese (and despite appearances male) Aoi has Blue eyes.
