Well, does anyone elese like the way they dress?   :

Maybe it's just me, but I love it and I give them props for not caring about what other people think. Besides, Gwen Stefani has alot to learn. I can't think of anyone elese who can pull that off, but they do it so nicely...

ETERNAL LOVE

man! I just love the way the dress, specially the BABES ;P

american babes dress all................slutty, I don't know, not all, but dressing like Britney Spears/Jessica Simpson/Christina Aguilera is pathetic. And those tight jeans are overrated.

PS: I really like the japanese attitude towards clothes, they look at you and just stare, they don't laugh at you in a malicious way, they're cool with anything. In America, you dress DIFFERENT than everybody else and they WRITE a book 'bout it.

Man, aren't we a japanophile :p.
I think these images represent a small minority. Japanese youths in general try to look as western as possible. That's my impression anyway.

That's true. They even prefer that you call them by their "Western name". My friend Jeong prefers her "Western Name".

Funny, you like LABELING yourself, go for it.

Oh! I know, still, they really don't care how you dress, for the most part at least, so that's a plus for them. And as far as I know those who try to dress western like are the 25+ group, but anyway, it really doesn't matter.

Japan had/has a very trend-based culture. (Examples include absorbing Chinese culture and basing fashion off of different things every week.) I don't really care about fashion, so I don't really care that much either way. I suppose it looks okay.

Some of it looked pretty nice, some of it was stupid. I don't care about what other people wear or their style, though. I wear what works for me.

My friend likes it -- I don't much care. I like to see a bit of individuality around, but heck, in a little while it'll become a trend and then it won't be individual anymore and then it'll just be boring and annoying and tacky. I think there's a name for that Japanese street fashion stuff -- starts with a 'd', but I forgot.

I love how the Japanese teens dress, they dont care what others think about them and wear whatever they please. You couldnt do that here in England, you would be automatically labelled as some freak. Sigh, they do have some great fashion sense, so in your face!

Yeah but they have the balls in Japan to dress like that. Ive never seen anyone wear anything outrageous like that in Manchester and we have Afflecks Palace, that sell outfits like that. I think we're scared of getting the crap kicked out of us for expressing oursleves. Yeah Japan has its violence also, so dont say "But people get the crap kicked out of them in Japan too." I know that might happen, but in the UK its like your not allowed to be too loud with what you wear. Well thats how it feels in Manchester and Bradford, its 90% chavs and 10% whatever.

The traditional clothing is something to expect from Japan, like Kimono or qípáo (hope thats right). Fashion like this is different and IMO more eye cathcing. But thats just my opinion.

The OP at least looks weird, I've seen pics of Gangrou (sp?) where the girls looks like a Spears/Rich Hick Girl.

Put me on the streets of Toyko and I might go homicidial with my fists.

So yes, they need to learn about REAL style. That or get a revivalist movement going. ASAP.

QFT.

So yes, they need to learn about REAL style.
Define real style? People have different tastes in fashion. They may think you need to lean real style from the way you dress. Dont be so quick to judge others who dont share the same dress sense as yourself.

I like it. I think it's far more interesting to look at then the outfits people are wearing here. I get sick of the sight of some of the clothing here, because sometimes you can go out an see virtually every woman wearing practically the same outfit. Although I don't know whether the fashion there has much variation either, since I've only seen pictures.

BatChao

These look like they are from some cosplay or costume convention thingy since everyone in the background is also wearing weirdo outfits (except that one with the rabbit girls - that looks like it's out of a magazine). I doubt people dress like that on the street.

Personally I think it's pretty cool. I mean, here in the US it seems every girl conforms to the same style of the week, then it changes. I just can't see how long it would take to put all that stuff on, let alone be comfortable in it.

Some of it is weird, but I think overall there's nothing that bad about it. I mean, yeah, in a way it's a good thing that they dress how they want & not care about it, but I think it fits in with modern day Japan, so that's why they do it.

Some of it is a little over the top though. :eep:

It's just as much a minority there as it is here, I'd assume. I like it, in fact I wouldn't mind some of the outfits I've seen (even some of the female ones :D). Tsh, but that'd get even more things yelled at me from cars.
