Why does everyone think FFX sucked so badly?

All over the internet I've heard MANY people bash FFX, my favorite game. "The story sucks, the characters are bad, it's too linear, boring."etc. I just don't get it, as that was not my experience with the game at all, and whenever I try to defend my opinion people always say that the old school ff's were better, and that ffx lovers are stupid and only care about graphics...

While I like the old ff's alot, I don't see how X was so much worse. Or the story or characters were shallow and uncomplicated...I thought the story was great. SO why do so many people think FFX sucked!? I need to know!! >:O

Anyway, I don't know anyone could hate X. It wasn't the best game, but far from the worst. I don't understand how these people hate things they probably know nothing about, but whatever.

Really? I haven't heard many people talk about how bad it was, but there were a few. But not a lot, from what I've seen at least.

well, ok not EVERYONE hated it, but a fair number from what I've seen (definately more its sequel though). And yeah, I have no idea how anyone could ever hate, it but alas there are some...I just wanna know why some people didn't like it.

For the most part, people love the game. Majority is the best you can hope for. Especially with Final Fantasy, which is a victim of its own fame. People already hate XII and XIII and they aren't even out yet, so you have to expect people who act like X destroyed their world and spiraled them into insanity. But majority loves it, so that's good enough.

I beleve that the people that are just starting to play the Final Fantasy Series says it sucks. Not everyone mind but thats where I think the majority of the hate is commin from.

But what I really don't get is the people who say that they hate X-2, I really don't know whats wrong with them, That game was really good.

FFX is a great game. Only, FFX is my least favourite among all FF I've played (Personally, I think FFX-2 is better).

Anyway, this is just my opinion. FFX is still a great game.

i liked ffx. i think the reason people weren't uber impressed is because of all the fmv's making it more of a movie than a game. this didn't bother me however as it allowed the story to be more in depth

Some people feel special when they can bash new games because they were playing them since the original, I guess. I liked the older ones a little, but I liked the newer ones better. Not just for the graphics, but all of the other things you could do that the old ones couldn't.
As for all of the FMVs and cutscenes, I loved them, but after the eightieth time going through I memorized them all practically and really wished I could skip them.

FFX is my favorite game!!! I used to hate FFX-2, but now it's not so bad. I think it's because I rushed through it the first few times.

Most of the people hate FFX because the storyline is short, they focus too much on Tidus and Yuna, while other characters only get short details, plus it's too easy! It's all Break Damage Limit fault! The other thing is, it touch religion issue!

Maybe that's why I don't like FFX (But I love X-2). For me, I feel so boring whenever I play FFX but I never feel boring when I play FFX-2.

People dislike Tidus because he always whine about everything. Other protagonist before (Cecil, Bartz, Locke, Cloud, Squall, Zidane) didn't act like Tidus. Plus, he cry.:eek:

I don't have problem with FFX character except Tidus.:tongue:

I haven't played all the FF's, but I have played a lot of them. And I've been playing games since I was very young (I'm nearly 21 now).

So, when I say FFX is tied for favorite FF, I say it with all that experience behind me. Suck on that, other people ;)

Personally I thought a few FMVs could be tuned down and little less pretties, and more fighting. but otherwise its ok so far. Not bad, not absolutely awesome either.

I am still not used to the sphere grid, but I haven't touched it as I'm still playing Dragon Quest 8 currently.

If there was a little faster talking/less pause/fluff in it to make it go faster it would be better.... but I'm not really a FMV lover. Otherwise its pretty good. Not supremely great or anything, but pretty good.

First time round it was a cool game. I still love the FMVs, music and Auron, but the voice acting, Tidus and the sphere grid do take their toll on you.

I loved FFX! And I liked Tidus too, I liked most of the characters except Seymour, Shlinda, and Mika.
I don't really care that Tidus cried, it was an emotional moment.

I also liked the older FF's too, there's not really one that I hate.

Far too girly. Way too much girlpower packed into one game. It substituted Equiping armour with dress-up barbie. ugh. :barf:

And the majority of people who rag on it are probably males, who can't stand the notion of dress up barbie (dress spheres) intead of an armour system.

Yeah, of course the majority of female FF gamers will like it. The vast majority of FFX-2 haters are males (like myself) who can't identify with it. And the majority of FF gamers probably are male.

Anyways, to get back on topic I loved FFX. Of course there are haters, not everyone is going to love it. Every game has its share of critics.
