So which is it?

Im going to have to go with Chrono.

Chrono Trigger is my favorite rpg of all time.
And while Chrono Cross was a very good game, it didnt whet my appetite as a truly 'great' sequel.

Its sad that theres only two Chrono games out there...

And this is for NON FF games only please. :)

I guess I'd have to go with Kingdom Hearts as it is the only other Squenix series I've tried so far outside of the FF world. I will give Chrono Trigger a try when I buy FF Chronicles, and Dragon Quest VIII is a game I've heard some good reviews from. My opinion may change then after I get more involved in non-FF's.

Eh. I guess it will be the SO franchise for me. Even if I wasn't the biggest fan of the third. I am tempted to give my vote to VP simply based on my excitement for Silmeria, but yeah... that would be kinda jumping the gun. ;)

Its sad that theres only two Chrono Drakengard games out there...

DRAKENGARD no question. Best thing ever. I really love that it took some chances with those games; results were awesome.

A few years back I woulda said KH, but CoM got on my nerves and KH2 was a big let down for me, so I'd have to probably pick Act Raiser since both games are special to me.

Front Mission is too under-appreciated.

Yeah, but is it the best?

I'm not going to include Star Ocean or VP in my choice because I still consider them Tri-Ace. I would then have to say Dragon Quest, only because of DQIII and DQVIII, the rest of the series was pretty mediocre in my opinion.

Chrono Trigger blew me away...Kingdom Hearts looks REALLY good too...but I haven't played them at all. :p

I voted for the KH series. My vote would have gone for the Chrono series, had Cross been a better game.

It would have to be the Kingdom Hearts series.

Meh. Star Ocean. But yeah, they were created by tri-Ace...I usually just group all tri-Ace games together.

Honorable mentions go to Chrono. Haven't played Cross, unfortunately...

wow, this thread has made me realise that Square dont make alot of amazing RPG series other than Final Fantasy. Anyway, I'd say Chrono :choc2:

I would have to say Kingdom Hearts because of the cool ways of how they made disney characters into an awesome video game.

honestly it's funny I ran into this today.

I've played Soul Blazer and it was pretty good, I own Illusions of Gaia and I always enjoyed playing it, and today I just happened to get Terrinigma and so far enjoy it. It's an Enix series, but I've enjoyed each game. It definitely one of their best other series, so I voted for it!

Chrono for me. They could do so much with that series. Why no C3, why?

I'd say Seiken Densetsu (Mana). Secret of Mana was amazing! And Legend of Mana still holds the postition of best game in my book. Great music, amazing visuals, and a fun freedom some games don't give. I can't wait for Children of Mana and Dawn of Mana to come out in North America!

Unfortunately, I've never played the Dragon Quest games. Out of the Mana (Seiken Densetsu) series, I've played Secret of Mana and Legend of Mana a bit, and Seiken Densetsu 3 several times, and they're quite cool. The Chrono series are also pretty good, and I especially think Chrono Trigger is an excellent game. However, I'll still have to go with the KH series. The first game was one of my favorite games so far, and KH CoM was alright, it had a slightly annoying gameplay but a very emotional storyline. I haven't played KH2 yet, but I've seen quite a lot of it, and it doesn't seem bad so far.

Don't look right past it 'cause of the Disney.

Its all about the Star Ocean to me but alot of the series above are great.

I would definitely have to say Dragon Quest. The only problem with people not liking the Dragon Quest series is that the two best entries in the series NEVER CAME TO AMERICA. Dragon Quest V and Dragon Quest VI were seriously two of the best entries. At least the US got Dragon Quest IV. IV was probably THE BEST entry.
