With the upcoming release of his new film, Click, I thought I might make a thread about Adam Sandler and his movies. Even if all of his flicks haven't been that great (the more I think about it, Spanglish really sucked), he's had some memorable turns.

Anyway, what's your favorite Adam Sandler movie?

Punch-Drunk Love was the only worthwhile production of which he has ever been a part.

Oddly enough I was going to say that was one of his stupider movies.
Never saw Spanglish, but I'd say his best is Mr. Deeds, followed by happy gilmore.

A magical remote. Are you serious with this stuff? Uhhg.

Uhhg!

I think he's overrated in that funny sort of way where not many people really rate him highly but he's still overrated anyway.

Billy Madison is the greatest movie he ever did.

The Waterboy makes me laugh, so does The Longest Yard, but that was mainly 'cause Kevin Nash took those female hormone pills. Little Nicky was alright and Big Daddy was kinda cool. Those are the only films I've seen him in I think, and he was pretty much basically the same in all of them.

Airheads, Wedding Singer and Little Nicky. The rest were rubbish IMO. My uncle adores Grandmas Boy and my brother and boyfriend both love Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison?! Pah.

I agree. He is not that funny! Just plain annoying, and stupid at times. But Waterboy is my "favourite" movie of his.

Little Nicky has to be one of my favourite films ever.

"are you that guy pretending to be a bird checking out that sexy mom?"

"that I am."

"Now you're going to see what a big horny bird really looks like... IN HELL!"

"I DESERVE THIS!!!!"

My friend and I have this theory - comedy movies can be pretty great when Adam Sandler isn't involved. We've not been proven wrong so far.

Probably Anger Management. Most of his other films are really not that funny at all.

Perhaps because I'm English..! & really don't find American comedy that funny.

I pretty much agree with this post. I've watched a lot of his movies, but I can't really say I've enjoyed a lot of his movies. Part of the problem is that he basically plays the same exact character in every movie, just in a different situation.

At this point he's pretty much lost any comedic qualities he ever had. Watching the trailer for Click embarasses me.

I don't get why anyone would ever assume Adam Sandler would be involved in a "quality" movie. He's not that type of funny. He's cheap laugh funny. A guy gets hit in the nuts and you giggle. He's great for that stuff. That's what I watch him for.

Yeah, though I think I blame it more on my own getting older and more elitist about films. I don't think it was until he did Mr. Deeds that I really started to realize that I didn't find the man funny anymore, though it didn't help that Mr. Deeds was an awful, awful film on its own.

My favorite of his is Billy Madison or Airheads.

I feel the same as Dan and RSL do about him - one of my biggest BEEFS with this guy is that he doesn't really act in any of his movies. Although I haven't seen Punch Drunk Love. And I'm just getting less and less interested in comedies anyways. Too many slapsticks out there. And that's all he ever does so blegh.

I used to love him, though, with Waterboy and Big Daddy being my favourite. Happy Gilmore was a huge disappointment for me, and started me on the Sandler-hating road I am on now! 8-)

he was good in Mixed Nuts. Also, Mr Deeds was funny, but mostly because of the fabulous John Turturro.
