Is it just me, or does FFIV Advanced make Rosa look like she has a really big nose?

The one on the left is the GBA version. The one on the right is the SNES version. To me the SNES version looks like she has the larger nose. The bridge is at least a pixel higher.

In the GBA version they tried to make the character portraits resemble Amano art while retaining their general expressions from the SNES version. But being that this was, after all, the GBA, they had very few pixels to work with and hence it all came out looking like a disaster.

Don't really know why people seem to hate the portraits....guess they have to whine about something. They still essentially look like they did before, although less cartoony.

I'd have to say her portrait changed the most. She looked much better on the SNES version. When I first played the GBA version as soon as I saw the portrait I thought "I don't remember her being that ugly". She isn't and the amano art proves this:

i really hate the FF4 advance portrait graphics. but thats the only reason for the big nose.

I'm not sure if her FFIV-A nose really is that much bigger. I never liked the portraits too much, though I guess I prefer Rosa's portrait in the SNES version. The GBA portrait looks a bit... I don't know, maybe arrogant. And finally, I'm not a big fan of purple lipstick. :p

I have only played FFIV Advance so I'm not sure about the SNES version, but she looked fine in the GBA version. It's just a different art style.

I preferred all the portraits from the original version. I think it's far more fitting to her role and far more reasonable to how the game describes her, but I was fine with their new portraits too.

Though if she really WERE ugly, rather than just being called ugly because it's not the personal ideal of beauty, then it would seem that ugly hags are the most desired type of woman around.

I liked most of the GBA portraits better, but I agree that Rosa's portrait is bad..however I think the SNES one is bad too.

yeah i didn't like either of her portrairs, SNES or GBA. but like other people have said, it's such a minor detail it doesn't really matter at all.
