I dunno. I wanted Pierce to come back to the Bond flock. My family adore the latest Bond cause hes a local lad. Plus Casino Royale was a Bond spoof movie with Peter Sellers. Why name it after that?

I saw this trailer for the first time in a local movie theatre, and it caught me by surprise; the trailer has this nice artsy opening in a way that pleases Bond fans, and then we get some good action and that memorable theme playing in the background. It'll be interesting to see how this movie turns out, because it does have potential to become a good Bond movie. And I think Daniel Craig isn't that bad a choice for Bond, but of course we'll find out more once the movie comes out. :D

Well, Casino Royale happens to be the first Bond novel by Ian Fleming, and because the film makers wanted a reboot of the Bond franchise in a similar way to Batman Begins, they thought a good way to get going was to make an official film adaptation of the very first Bond novel. Thus we have Casino Royale. Although the movie's going to have some differences (it seems Felix Leiter will be played by an African-American man as opposed to the traditional Caucasian man seen in other official Bond films, and Judi Dench is going to reprise her role as M although the M in this movie should've been a man, and there are various other tweaks as well), those shouldn't be that disturbing and hopefully serve the story well. :)

I do hope this movie turns out to be alright, because we have good names behind it. To give a few examples, Martin Campbell (director of GoldenEye) has returned to film Casino Royale, the emphasis will be on traditional stunts rather than special effects, the cast seems to be quite good, apparenly the movie's going to get more artistic than it's predecessors in order to get the "right feel" (although we'll have to wait and see to find out if this is going to be the case), and it seems David Arnold returns to score this movie. I truly hope that Arnold takes the direction of scoring similar to Tomorrow Never Dies, because so far that was his only good Bond score (I didn't care for that electric sound in The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day), and Arnold has potential in composing good film scores (as he proved with his scores for Stargate, Independence Day and Tomorrow Never Dies), but we shall see what happens. :p
