View Full Version : Question: What happened to Unne's website?

Whenever I go to www.classicgaming.com/ff1 (which should still exist, as Classic Gaming still lists it under Hosted Sites in the Games Worship section), I get nothing but an empty directory. Though I know I was there within the last month.

Anyone have any idea? Unne, you there?

I'm going back to proofread my 3 1/2 year old FF1 walkthrough and needed his website to reference a few things. He always was the most knowledgeable I knew about the game.

EDIT: Wow, and just like that I stumble upon it by circumstance. I figured "Well, since Unne's site disappeared, why don't I just check Eyes on FF's FF1 section, since most of the content is from his site anyways." *checks* WOAH It's FF Classic! He just very recently changed hosts. I did not know this. I am now more informed and this topic is useless.

BTW Unne if you read this, cheers, I haven't talked to you in eons. And any other great Eyes on FF cats who might remember me.

Yeah, Unne is currently working on hosting his site under EoFF and updating content as well.

Hi Chzn8r. Yes, it's been a while. Please spread the word, if possible. I hope the various search engines figure out the new URL soon.

Are you making a text-only walkthrough? If so I may be interested in hosting it. I have an ancient half-written text-only walkthrough of my own which I'm hoping to finish if I ever get off my lazy arse. http://www.eyesonff.com/ff1/walkthrough.txt

Nice to see Unne back.

Black Belts truely are weak in DoS btw Unne.
Tho I disagree with you on the origins version about them :)

0.6~ armor per level instead of 1 armor per level when unequipped
Damage is cut in half, maybe a 1/3 of what it is in the origins and original.

And nice to see your site is back up.

Well, when I originally wrote my walkthrough (late 2002, compiled and put into text format early 2003), it was being hosted on my website. That was the main place. I put it on GameFAQs also, but it had loads of references that said "Check my weapons page" or "Check out my map and download it if you want to" etc etc. My website has been defunct for over 2 years now though, so I've gotta go back through and change all that. Plus, I just want to edit things, fix up some strategies, and just talk like I'm... well, 18 years old, not 14-15 years old. My e-vocab is much better now than back then :p I even mispell "Pravoka" (I spell it Provokia) every time it's mentioned XD

So, you can see my walkthrough (not re-sent to GFAQs in almost 3 years) at this link: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/game/522595.html
I could've sworn I at least mentioned it, when at one point our websites were affiliated for a period of months (before my hosting died) a couple years back. I even put you in the original "thanks" section :)

P.S.: I really don't like Dawn of Souls. But hey, I guess it's portable FF1, even though the "difficulty" of the game and all the modernizations make me want to go all emo and /wrists.
Origins > All.

I do remember your site and walkthrough. Very vaguely. My memory is going. Old age probably.

I may be recruiting people for some tasks regarding my website. Extremely boring and repetitive tasks, probably. PM me if you're interested, Chzn8r.

Yay Unne!

I loved your site. Found it oh so long ago when I was playing FF1. Very nice info. Later on it seemed to have stagnated, so it's good to see you are still alive and well. And still updating. ;)

What was that rating you had for blackbelts, -43/10? :D

On a related note, this is reminding me of that single thief (no cc) game I started (no save states either of course). Got to Astos and when I couldn't even get close to beating him at level 26, got pretty discouraged. Maybe I'll go finish it soon. ;)

edit: wow this is my first post here in years, can you believe that join date I got there. Aug 2002. Bit of a n00by name, but the join date is worth it. :)

Hey if Fire is in a name then its not nOOby!

I'd like to find a DoS version at least on the parties!
