What determines the damage this does? Every time I use it it either does 9999 or 0 damage. Are some enemies just immune?

I think the damage it deals is correlated to how much damage the party's dealt in battle, but I'm not sure.

Aahhh, so it's basically equal to whatever the party has already dealt in the current battle? So after I've done 9999 collectively Dragons Breath will also hit for that?

I don't know if it's a 1-for-1 damage dealing attack. Try it out in battle and see! :)

Also, I don't know if it continually deals 9,999 damage or if it resets after it's used and you have to build it up again.

Yeah, im sure of it. Its high MP cost makes it not that useful though. Dragon's Crest can far surpass it in efficiency when fully powered up

Dragon Breath

Damages all enemies by an amount equal to how much HP the targeted monster has lost.
Amount of damage is capped at 9999.

Just went through Memoria fighting the 4 guardians and Hades, and to be honest I think Dragon's Breath makes it a little too easy. It doesn't require you to spend hours and hours to build it up like Thievery or Dragon's Crest but still does 9999 damage. I know it takes a massive 78mp to cast but you can cast it about 4 or 5 times before having to use an ether, which equals just under 50,000 damage, which pretty much destroys every boss. Even Ozma only has 55,000 HP. I reckon Dragon's Hair lance should have been harder to get than just using a dead pepper on the mountain crack.

Anyhow, mystery solved. Thanks to everyone who helped!

oh yeah. I need help with thievery. Why does it only do like 600?

The more successful steals Zidane makes in the game the more powerful it becomes. I think that if you do about 700 steals it reaches 9999 damage.

Now that really sucks.

So,I usually have Zidane attack.And attack only.

Thievery
Damage = [Number of successful Steals * Zidanes Speed] / 2

With 50 Speed Zidane will need 400 successful steals to make Thievery deal 9,999. If his Speed is lower, you'll need more steals.

Dragon Crest
Damage = No. of dragons killed by the party * No. of dragons killed by the party

100 dragons will make Dragon Crest deal 9,999 damage

Frog Drop
Damage = No. of frogs caught * Quina's level

At Lv99 you'll need 101 frogs to deal 9,999 damage.
