[A] First Attempt on Vector: Rinoa Vector

Here's my first attempt on vectoring. I did rinoa hoping to make her into a more anime/ cartoony style. I was part successful but her eyes doesn't look anime. Still, here's my first vector ever.

the arms are messed up because it's really blurry on the actual picture of her so i didn't bother to make it very neat.

Oooh, that's wonderful for a first try. I like your style of it, thick lines. Her eyes and hair are nice. You wouldn't need it for this style of vector, but if you go into more advanced stuff, I'd recommend using a colour mesh (I believe it's called that) to blend lights and darks. :)

I might do quistis since her face doesn't have many sharp edges like squalls and her hair is pretty simple.:cool:

very nice job of tracing her outline (http://membres.lycos.fr/balderbombadil/rpg-mania/galerie/nomura/ff8-rinoa.jpg). her eyes don't look right because they are not big and soulful enough. also, she has no lower eyelid.

do it in an original pose and it'll be all the more impressive:) as a vector i like it very much ^_^

i didn't want to do an original pose:rolleyes2 i've said that many times.:eep: I was going for an anime style and not the original image because it looked realistic and i need cartoony style taht is different but looks like her.

it is cool, the jacket is so well done. rinoa is good too except her eyes they don't have life in them.
and squall is so good I am sure hid necklace was a pain ^^. but his eyes too looks screw up alittle. but over all very good. ^_~

yes rinoa's eyes look alot better now ^^. but she looks like her eyes are on the same place ^o^.

that would be great!! thanks!! the picture i used was the same size as this vector so it's not very big compared to the rinoa vector i did before. THe other one was huge:p

You cannot ruin a vector, though. It's all easily resizable and without any loss of any sort on any level.

The only real issue I can see with your last vector is Rinoa's left eye. The smile looks a little strange, but I seem to remember that it did anyways in the original image anyways. But the eye: it looks as if you need to rotate it in a few degrees, as the leftmost part of it droops too low to connect to the outline of her face, while the point closest to her nose looks too high.

in her original pic, her nose is quite big and long. The only thing i did was to make the tip pointy rather than round so it looks anime-ish.

In anime and manga, this case being manga, noses are not always sharpened to murder vampires. [Here] (http://www.catsuka.com/clindoeil.php) is a nice link, where you can see a bunch of established artists do their own take on other artists' characters. A prime example for differing styles, manga-wise, are the DBZ ones. If you feel that a sharp nose is good, go with it. If you prefer it otherwise, do that. Just realize that it's not going to make it more anime-like until you animate something. :|

aww thanks owen:D first i gotta make ~SS~ her siggy first then i'll make quistis since she doesn't have much details for her character design (unfair) so it'll take less time compared to squall's big hairy head:p
