Yes, I thouroughly enjoyed Detective Conan. Unfortunately, it's another victim of it's own cult popularity where it's continued for so long. (Nearing 20 years.) that the storyline just gets kinda stale. (Remember Dragonball? Yeah.) Has it ended in Japan yet? I haven't been following it lately.

I don't really care for the localizations of so many things (especially the name change, which doesn't make sense whatsoever.) but oh well.

FUNimation was actually instructed to change the names of the characters and the show itself by Tokyo Movie Shinsha, the show's original creators. My favorite is Hiroshi Agawa, whose name was changed to Herschel Agawa, but since everyone just calls him "Dr. Agawa," you'd never know it was different at all.

As for the show itself, I actually like the premise and the characters so much that I don't mind how formulaic most of the episodes are, and in a way, they make the occasional plot advancement that much more engaging. Of course, I've only seen a few dozen episodes; I don't know if my enthusiasm would hold over the course of the other four hundred.

I enjoyed the two seasons or so they aired here, at least I think it was two, but I could be wrong. But like Kaishi, I wouldn't really persue it any farther.

Don't get me wrong. If given the chance, I'd definitely follow it until I were absolutely sick of it.

That's pretty much how I feel.

By the way...do you know why they instructed them to change the names?

Probably to make it more appealing to an English speaking audience, since japanese names can be tricky to pronounce if you're not familiar with it.

Yeah, and as for the title, they seem to have been paranoid about getting sued by the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I've seen about five episodes.

It was okay, but I don't think I could handle...what was it, 200+ episodes?

I hate it, that's why I'm addicted to watching it.
