Praying Mantis fallen into Desperation.

There is so much to say about this picture, subject alone.

Has the Praying Mantis seen something so horrible it must scream aloud in terror? Has it realised its fate (beheaded during sex by crazy female)?

What will it do next, pray for the cause of his terror to vanish? WHO CAN TELL?!

The reason this is my favourite picture is because it seems so natural, rather than posed by hired insect actors in a fake jungle. Please post your opinions and pictures. :D

This is a picture of my favorite insect (I don't have a favorite picture of an insect, I'm afraid)

<a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/liamd/IM000133.jpg" target="_new">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/liamd/thIM000133.jpg</a>

It's quite blurry and hard to make out, sorry (my fault). That's why I like the insect more than the picture. Beetle. It was a "devil's coach-horse". I don't know if you can see it, but that stain on the floor is from an orificial juice the devil's coach-horse ejaculates in self-defense. The other bodies are cockroaches that I tried to feed to the devil's coach-horse. They died because they couldn't hold their breath as long as the beetle could. I trapped it in a glass and kept it as a pet for about a day until I released it. He impressed me so much I couldn't bear keeping him as my own.

Wow, great pic of the Praying Mantis!

I gotta dig mine, it is a pic of the swallowtail butterfly me and the kids nursed since it was a caterpillar  So cute!

Creepy huh? *shudders* There's just something about that leg configuration that makes me uncomfortable... and intrigued.

Spiders aren't insects, they are arachnids. Meaning they have two parts to their bodies as opposed to three like an insect and have eight legs instead of six. A scorpion is also an arachnid.
