the problem is starting off, once you get your combat stats to 15 or more then it's fun and easy.

I formerly played it when I was younger. Ironically, I discovered EoFF when I was looking for a forum to post on while I had a temporary membership withdrawl. This proved to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. RuneScape's community on the forums is absolutely craptastic. It's literally impossible to post anything without somebody flaming for no reason whatsoever. Not to mention they have so many things they don't allow (such as religious/political discussion). The crappy community is the main reason why I never play anymore.

I played way back in the day. Then I took a hiatus. And when I came back I realized I had an easter egg which ended up being worth quite a bit. Ended up trading it for a halloween mask. Found out my character sucked at combat, started a pure but my bro wrecked it, ended up transferring everything to a new guy. Haven't played in forever, but if I remember correctly he was a combat 30 with 30 ATT 34 STR and 10 DEF. And the mask. :)

The Good Things.
1. You can do almost anything
2. There are a lot of quests(for members)
3. There is no job limit

The Bad.
1. The runescape Community is stupid, seriously they act like 5 year olds.
2. Getting called a noob by almost anyone at any lv.
3. Once you level high enough you see how much time you wasted.
4. You pay five ******* dollars a month for this...

P.S. Don't bother to become a member unless your really ready to level like crazy, don't even bother with herblore, theres a huge gap from like lv. 18 to about 40.

this game is graphically limited because it's all done in java.Graphics mean bugger all to me. What matters is a good community and decent gameplay. Runescape delivers neither. All the people in the know play better MMOs, like WoW or Guild Wars.

I just turn public chat onto friends only, that way you can only speak to friends nearby.
The gameplay is pretty cool actually. WoW and GW take more time to set up and cost more then Runescape.

We're not talking about costs or time to set up, we're talking about gameplay quality, and in that respect, Runescape is left in the dirt, chewing dust.

5 mil who play there's over 100 servers each holding up to 2k users with an average of 1k online per server. That's around One Million online at once averagly.

I don't play RuneScape, but my younger cousin tried to get me yo play once, and a couple of boys in my year at school play it, who I refer to as the 'runescape crowd'. And every morning, withour fail, at least three of them will be haggling with each other for different weapons/armour.

I played Runescape. My name was Thewildman55 a level 78 member. And Shoden has it all wrong.

There are 5 Million ACCOUNTS registered to Runescape. Each person is allowed to create up to 12 accounts.

Now put this into the equation. Many people join and quit. If they play for a while then they often make more then one account. You can also multi-log extremely easily.

I estimate that there is only a total of 100,000-500,000 people who play.

I only really played because of how much it sucked me in. Its kind've like MSN messenger but your doing something while you're talking to your friends.

I don't play anymore I have a level 30 something combat level and iron armour. I can't play now even if I wanted to, my AOL's Firewall blocks it because the crap will give you Trojans.

AdventureQuest is single player, and I admit it's a pretty bad game still, but I find it better than Run Escape, not to mention (from what I hear, mind you) you get more out of being a Guardian on AQ than you do being a member on Run Escape, cheaper too.

Actually, there is pvp in FFXI. But the game isn't based around pvp like every other MMORPG out there (seriously) -- and that doesn't mean it's not a great game. Not everything is about pvp. :D

I'm a member of Runescape, my username is Pirate Matie (currently lvl 55). I finally am back up to 350K and can finally buy an Obsidian Shield (yes!!). Add me to your friends if you want I play a lot.

I can see that most of you never got far enough into Runescape to have fun. It stinks being a lvl 25 and below. You can't wear or afford good items. You have to get your stats up to get the good stuff from the game. (Hint: The first 30 levels of each stat are gimmes)

Anyone who insults a game is simply biased, they only believe on their own feelings of the certain game. Someone can like a game, where as others don't, kind of like pac-man, I think the game is stupid and boring, yet some people love the game to death, or even tetris for another example.

If someone likes it, they like it, if someone doesn't, they don't, but you don't need to say it more than once to try and make the other person in favor of the game dislike it.
