Yeah, anyone know where I can get some Purifying Salt quickly? I want to equip the No Encounters ability to a weapon before I enter Omega Ruins (it's really helpful).

Salts are stolen from the Fallen Monks in Zanarkand's Ruins, in amounts of one or two.

Unlock Fafnir (Capture all species of Drakes 10 times) for 99 Purifying Salts.
Species Required: Kusariqqu, Lamashtu, Mushussu, Nidhogg, Vouivre

NE Equipment is dropped by various Omega Ruins enemies.

The easiest way to get NE equipment is to fight Geosgaeno at Baaj. Be sure to equip Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku with element-strike weapons. It may take you a few tries (it did for me) but a lot of that battle is based on how lucky you are with Stone/KO Punch. At the end of the battle, there's a pretty good chance he'll drop an NE weapon. Keep in mind it will not have any special name, for example, if you get one for Tidus, it will be the Baroque Sword. I'm really not sure what they are for the other characters, but I assume they're:

Ductile Rod (Y)
Shimmering Blade (A)
Halberd (K)
Variable Mog (L)
Switch Hitter (W)
Devastator (R)

Again, that could be wrong. And, if you don't get it to drop, reset and try again. I know that sounds very very drastic, but the battle isn't THAT hard. Especially since he's weak to all elements.

I also heard a curious rumor that there's an NE weapon (like I described above) in the Djose inn, next to the temple. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Not true. Geosgaeno is the only source of a NE weapon.

An easy way to get purifying salts is to get an armor with "Master Thief" and steal with that armor equiped on those fallen monks..

I think I will try that.

hm, Djose Inn? Wait, Endless Twilight say it not true. I should steal farplane wind and something that protect against stone too if I want to fight Geosgaeno soon.

And really quick...if you still want to do it the old fashion way and get the salts, go right ahead, but defeating Geosgaeno allows you to go to the temple, and after doing some minimal questing for the Cloister of Trials treasures, you can get into the Chamber of the Fayth containing ANIMA!!! If you needed any more motivation.

Geosgaeno? I've got all the weapons you mentioned in fighting only general enemy around calm lands/outside yojimbo's cavern or before. But, now the problem for me is I'm hardly to get another more powerful weapons.

It's tons easier to run around in the sunken cave waiting for a ghost to drop a weapon than to fight geosd;asjdflkjo if you're at a point where you *need* no encounters.

Yeah, it's efficient to do this while capturing fiends in that area. Also, if you have Holy for Yuna, she can overkill a Ghost in one strike, which I believe increases the chance of a fiend dropping a weapon/armor.
