I created this

Anyone suggest any improvements please? I used acrylics and water colours.

that's from the MoaG advertisements, right?

you made it your own beautifully! there seems to be more dimension to yours than an overdone movie poster.

I really like that :) The colouring is lovely, and the image is gorgeous. Nice work

What the hell, is that hair coming off the paper?

:) Yes it is from MoaG. I copied it from the dvd case. And no, her hair is firmly stuck on the canvas, thankfully.

Marly, you asked for suggestions for improvements.

Firstly, thats a fantastic first go! Well done! You have shown sensitivity and emotion.

I think she needs a bit more colour in her face - a bit of blusher is always nice.

Re the eyes: remember that eyes are round balls resting in sockets and visable is the front part. Eyelids are usually always showing, and add to the 3 dimensionality.

A slight shadow on the underneath of the brow towards the curve of the nose would also enhance, but not too much as she has a quality of luminance and frailty about her which you want to retain.

A 'broken' dash of white or pink on the lips would add the gloss factor.

Hope these suggestions help.

Thanks for the ideas. I was finding it rather hard to add more tone and shading to her skin as my white paint had actually ran out part way through painting, so I had a lot of difficulty making what I had (very little) last. Once I get some proper new paints I think I can work into her face more. Also - although I understand your comment about the eyelids, they were that way on the image I copied, so that's how I left them.

I also done this for my art GCSE. I had 10 hours to work on it, when I can finally bring it home I plan to fix the skin tone.

:whoa: Your art is so amazing. In the first one her eyes look so fantastic and her hair is so shiny. The second one is really beautiful. :strung: Almost as if it's 3D...*tries to touch it*
