I'd like to lengthen the days a bit for myself, so It'd be cool if you were able to get used to longer daily rhythms.
Do you think it's possible? :)

Margret Thatcher was known to sleep only an hour a day. There is a certain type of sleep known as Polyphasic sleep (or "Da Vinci sleep"), that is designed to cut down on the amount you sleep. You can read up about it here. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyphasic_sleep)

Is that what benjamin franklin did? Where you would hold a mug-o-beer in your hand and start to fall asleep; your body would then jerk because the brain did not want to drop the mug. This causes a release of adrenaline which gets you back up and going.

Hmm - while its easy to shift within a 24-hour period, I'm less certain about actually extending your day/night cycle. My primary concern would be the eventual desynchronization of your body with the day/night climate cycle.

Sure, you'll probably be able to stretch it a bit, but stretch it too much and you'll end up exhausted and you're back at the beginning. BACK AT THE BEGINNING!!!1

I don't get enough sleep as it is with a 24 hour schedule (I'm growing a lot right now) so my answer is no.

I usually work off of 4-5 hours of sleep on a normal weekday, so yeah I think it would be possible.
