Its false. Nintendo will annouce the release of the Wii at the end of September, they'll also mention the price.

According to a secret industry insider from Nintendo, the Wii will be released NEXT WEEK, August 13, to be exact.

"We gotta keep this offa the record," the source told TheFeed while adjusting his red 'M' hat and leaping over an angry turtle, "Nintendo wanted to really shock'a people and give them a summer they won't forget. I'm totally not allowed to tell anyone, but Luigi and I talked about it, and we don't care anymore."

Pre-orders are being taken now by EB games, Target, Amazon.com and other major retailers.

Really, Nintendo is quashing the internet rumor-mill that's been swirling around their next-gen system. for the past couple weeks. Here's the official word: According to Nintendo There will be a major Nintendo ANNOUNCMENT in September. Not the release of the thing.

I predict a pre-Christmas Wii release or heads will seriously roll at Nintendo.

Judging by the end, I'd say it's fake. :p

I can see it coming out in early October.

Final Fantasy 12 would steal a lot of its thunder if the Wii was released late October.
And i dont see the Wii trying to clash with the PS3 launch in November.
Also, i doubt the Wii will be released in December as Nintendo does NOT want to be the last ones coming out of the gates. :mog:

I think Nintendo has announced that they plan to have the Wii released by Thanksgiving.

They've said Q4 2006, which generally translates to 'Holiday Season', which is around Christmas. Q4 starts in October, so it could be as early as that. We've been hearing some strong rumours about it being released on November 6th (which is Nintendo's birthday).
Nintendo will most likely reveal the final release date during the Tokyo Game Show in September (I'll be there!).
