View Full Version : Who hates Jack Thompson?

Who am I kidding? We ALL hate Jack Thompson! This topic is dedicated to the only Lawyer that gamers actually listen to, Jack Thompson! :D Let's look at some of his life-changing quotes!

Sims 2, the latest version of the Sims video game franchise...contains, according to video game news sites, full frontal nudity, including nipples, penises, labia, and pubic hair.
Little does Jack Thompson know, Gamefaqs reviews are NOT good sources of information! :D

Kids don't have liberties. Do your research
Silly Jack Thompson! Liberties are for kids!

You know, there are sociopaths everywhere. Some of them are in government, some of them are at TakeTwo. In fact, we got a bunch of sociopaths in Edinburgh, Scotland, sittin' around in kilts sippin' their single malt whiskey spreading racial, hurtful stereotypes in this country.
Oh, Brian won't like THIS. :(

The Bible doesn't promote killing innocent people, Grand Theft Auto does. Islam does. Islam promotes the killing of innocent people. The Quran requires the infidel, whether Jew or Christian, to be killed. ... That's a core essence of the religion. ... Muhammad was a pirate who killed infidels and who advocated the killing of infidels. Not a nice guy. Osama bin Laden is in keeping with his fine tradition."
Look's like Jack Thompson stole some ideas from Sherry the Republican! :p

Any letter from a video gamer like you would deepen his concern. Are you actually so confused that you think gamers have any influence on anyone. Gamers are considered by normal people to be cretins. Get used to it.
I guess he doesn't like us nerds. >=/

Video gaming is an escapist activity and you’re being exploited by these companies. It’s not healthy; I worry about someone who would play Grand Theft Auto for ten hours a day. It’s a masturbatory activity, and it would be better if people put down the controller and went outside.
How did he know that I masturbate while I play Video Games?

I've been on more Canadian news outlets than you've been on welfare lines.
And quite honestly, I don't give a damn! :D

One big difference between [Take Two Interactive CEO] Mr. Eibeler and me is that I'm not going to jail.
Don't worry. You'll be there soon enough.

Oh, and certain regional governments in Japan have banned the sale of the Grand Theft Auto games to minors, but Japan's Sony has no problem whatsoever dumping this garbage into American kids' brains. Looks like Pearl Harbor 2 by Sony/Take-Two...
Grand Theft Auto wasn't banned in Japan. He used this to get people to boycott Japan. :)

What the Japanese are doing to our kids is insensitive and racist. The Japanese have for a very long time dumped pornography into this country in a fashion they would not tolerate in their own country. It is another version of Pearl Harbor.
WOW! You're STUPID! ... On another note, how did he know this? Does he look at Hentai? O_o; ... Don't ask how I knew.

GTA is a Sony/Take-Two game. It was made by Take-Two exclusively for Sony's Playstation 2. Sony has led the planet in the distribution of mainstream porn. I don't have time to document it for you. As for the offensiveness of the Pearl Harbor comment, it's accurate and it's needed. The Japanese have a contempt for our culture which is patent. There (sic) dumping of garbage into our culture is a slow motion version of Pearl Harbor.
... Wow, you're REALLY stupid!

I love the smell of burning gamers in the morning.
And thus, his rep went to hell.

That's not the debate junior. That's a retail stat. You don't know the difference, huh? Gosh, I forgot. You're a gamer. You can't think for yourself. Sony and Microsoft and Take-Two have to do your cerebral stimulation for you.
He sounds like a guy from Gamefaqs. Just replace "Gamer" with "Fanboy".

Sonny, if you have been to an evangelical church lately, then you know there is nothing 'organized' about this religion. Hooah!

These flowers were sent to harass me.
... No comment, Jack. No comment.

I don't hate him. He's not worthy of anything that comes close to hate.

He's just an opportunist who saw that there was money and publicity to be made out of waging war on video games, but in doing so he has inadvertently revealed that he is a man of very little intelligence.

He is in no way a threat to the video game industry. I'm glad that it's him leading this campaign, and not someone who is actually capable of doing any damage.

To be honest, I never knew much about this guy before. Of course, assuming all those quotes are true, he doesn't sound like a very intelligent guy.

The man can hardly be taken seriously... About the only thing that can be taken seriously about him is his strangely perfect, innate ability to be utterly stupid - repeatedly. More than anything it causes me to laugh. To laugh at him and those that actually take this ignorant, incompetent and otherwise unintellegent individual seriously.

He's an idiot, that's the best I can say I can say about him. He makes my stomach turn. I also find it hypocritical that he complains about stereotypes but makes the prejudice assumption all gamers are idiots and unable to think for themselves. I don't hate him, but he certainly needs to be silenced.

EDIT: I realize "needs to be silenced" sounds as if I meant have him killed, I meant nothing along the lines of death.

Saying Thompson needs to be killed will only perpetuate his arguments.

But for some reason he thinks GTA is the only game in existance.

I look at him like this, the crap he pulls, while in good intention is still crap. However, it's so horribly done no one takes it seriously, so because of his crap he overshadows anyone who can do real damage, so by allowing his idiocy to reign we prevent what he is trying to accomplish.

an example on how stuiped he is:

first he says:

"PWNED Is Not a Word... as it is in serious need of a vowel movement. Somebody get Vanna White on the phone to buy one. Having said that, this entire site has been "pwned" by Jack Thompson today, and you pixelantes don't even know it."

then later he says:

"You've been pwned."

wow! smart-full-ness!
no wonder everyone hates him......

That's a self-contradicting statement. No one who actually knew anything would take his place, because the only arguments against videogames are completely idiotic. If there actually was a substantial argument that showed that video games were dangerous, evil, etc, someone would have introduced them to the media by now.

Someone less idiodic would take his place which would make it easier to convince people to follow his views. Since Thomas is such an idiot people percieve his views as idiodic, if someone well known who made themselves look intelegent it would be easier to convince people. That guy could do damage.

What part of "Reserved for Meat Puppet" don't you understand? Geeze...

I suppose I can't say I hate him since I don't know him. I can recognize that he is just trying to get money by arguing with what a small group of soccer-moms hate, but I also recognize that he does it INCREDIBLY TERRIBLY. False information, foolish assumptions, darn-right COLD insults, GUH... What a butt.

Jack recently (don't know how recently) got a penalty program set up so that game companies are fined 10,000 bucks for each thing that's in a game that's not mentioned on the ESRB rating part of the packaging.

Jack also stated that the only people who murder people are psychos and video gamers, I have half a nerve to summon Pokemon after him and attack him with Shinkuuhadoukens and Ride the Lightning :rolleyes2:

People should just stop listening to him, he's like the little retarded kid from the remedial class at high school, you give him a little attention and he keeps bugging you, bu if you just ignore him he'll go away.

There was once some guy who posted on a Metal Gear Solid message board who killed himself due to depression. Jack then decided to blame his suicide on Metal Gear Solid 2. So by his logic I can be playing Resident Evil 2, then decide to go take a shower, slip on a bar of soap, break my leg, then blame Capcom on it.

It would be unfair to dismiss Jack Thompson's arguments entirely, since there's no denying that the likes of Grand Theft Auto do set a bad example, and might influence a few lunatics to behave in a violent manner. The manner in which Thompson puts forward his points, however, is narrow-minded, misinformed, and childish. To be fair to the guy, he was interviewed in this month's issue of GamesTM, and he seemed far more coherent and reasonable than usual. I still think he's rather foolish, but I'm a long way from hating him.
