Question about Magus sisters & anima

Quick question about the magus sisters and anima overdrives.

The first time i used magus sisters overdrive it hit the enemy about 12 times or something, the second time it only hit 6 times, my aeon thing is on short mode. Does it only show 6 hits or does it really only hit 6 times?

also same question with Anima, in normal mode it shows alot of hits, in short mode it only shows one, does it just not show it hitting the other times or does it only do 1 hit?

They are still doing the same damage, but because the animation is shortened it doesn't display all of the numbers.
