Do you prefer using a pen, pencil, something else, or does it mean little to you? I use pencil because it can erase, but I like to use pen, it feels better to write with and no need to sharpen. Even though being left handed, I get a lot of lead/graphite marks on my hand resting my hand on the paper I just wrote on. Agitating.

Excuse the cheesy poll question...

Pencil because I make less mistakes with it.

I prefer using a pen, because pencils needs to be sharpened whenever there's no pens around.

Also, chainsaws are mightier than the sword.

What the hell is a sharpie?

A permanet marker/pen.

Sharpie = a brand of permanent marker

Sharpies bleed alot, so I can't write in them. I prefer pencil, pen is just one big, smeared mess.

Pencil is what I use most and is what I prefer to use. I'll only not use pencil in places where the use of other tools is mandatory.

I use a pencil because my writing is so bad I need to erase pretty much every other word.

I don't like writing in pen. Pencils are a lot better for me. Unless they're dull, and then my writing gets really sloppy. Not as sloppy as when I write in pen, though.

Sharpies smell too bad to use.

I like using pencil, it is far superior to pen and it's mistakes can be changed, pens however are stubborn and think theyre always right.

Pen. If you make a mistake, just cross it out, wuss ^_~ Don't pretend it never existed!

Whiteout's too troublesome, I never have it with me :p

I don't think I've touched an eraser in years, though. Unless they make me use pencil in one of those fill in the bubble tests and I have to erase an answer. Otherwise I always use pen, even on tests ^_^;;

I use a pen - I need not fear mistakes, for while writing, I am perfect.

Not really, of course, but my mistakes are rare and far apart, and pen appears bolder, stronger, will not smudge or become otherwise degraded through time, and ink is what I draw with most of the time, so it feels natural.

I normally use pencil because I make a lot of mistakes while writing and I need to erase, but I think pen looks nicer, so I try to use that more often.

i would most likely use pens, since lead could have that fade effect after a while

the pen is mightier than the...pencil. i keep them all in one big cup and separate them from the red pens...

I have a friend who spazzes out if you say "writing utensil." She insists that the proper term is "writing implement." She's a crazy person!

I like pens, really. They have a smoother flow. I still use pencils more, though, because of mistakes and such.

I remember when I had penisland pens. I don't know where they got to. :( I'll probably have to buy some new ones... some day. When I have money.

I tend to use black ballpoint pens. Since I'm also of left-handed persuasion I have to make sure I get non-staining ink, otherwise I end up with black marks on my fingers.

Pencil. I like the fact you can erase, but moreover I like the feeling when writing with a pencil (In the sense of the resistence it gives and whatnot). Pens are too smooth and are not pleasant to write with :(

blackmage_nuke

And to add to my list of pencil advantages when you snap a pen you get a large mess but if you break a pencil you get very little mess, in some cases the pencil can even be repaired and 2 shorter pencils formed, but once a pen breaks its over.

Always pen. When writing in pen you can see your writing clearly, while pencil writing is awfully vague and thus most of the time illegable. The sound the pencil makes while writing is nerve-breaking.

Pen. If you make a mistake, just cross it out, wuss ^_~ Don't pretend it never existed!

You hit the nail on it's head right there! Most people in my class are like 'oh noes!! i made a mistake!' and smears like a liter of typ-x (white stuff to cover up mistakes) on their page which makes an even bigger mess than if you had just crossed it out.

You should see my math exam, it's full of mistakes and thus full of crosses and lines and arrows pointing to the correct answer. I'm lucky my math teacher even corrects my exam. :D

I thought only 5 year olds used pencils because with pens they would write on each other and drink the ink. Or something.
