What do you think of Super Mario Bros. : The Movie? I thought there were some aspects about this movie that were cool like the rocket-powered boots and the de-evolution chamber but overall I thought the Mario Bros. movie was a flop. It's a shame too because the Mario Bros. movie might have been a hit if it was made the right way...And by the right way I mean Mario Bros. should have been an animated movie instead of a live-action movie. Because most live-action movies suck!:mad:

I watched it when I was around six so pretty much anything seemed good to me at that point. I thought it was an alright movie, but Super Mario Brothers is not something that should be a premise for a movie.

I remember the cartoon now a little. The live action movie stinks in my opinion.

If I was the director and if I was making an animated Mario Bros. movie I would've gotten animators who actually knew what they were doing. You see as much as I liked the Super Mario Bros. Super Show as a child the creators of that tv show didn't know what the hell they were doing!:mad: For example there were scenes in the Mario cartoons where one character would move his or her mouth but the character wouldn't talk and it would usually happen when another character was talking. I didn't like that it was very distracting.:mad:

Had some nice action figures come out to acompany the movie. High detail and quality really :) I seen it in theatre the week it came out - whenever that was. I was so stoked, and I really did love it.
I will have to rent it again; if not buy it when it hits DVD

I think the release date for the movie was May 28, 1993.

I think the live action Super Mario Bros. movie was great. Highly under-rated just because it didn't stay close to the game, but you can't make a live action movie if you stay close to the game. Sorry, but Mario games (back when the movie was made) had really no plot. It was just 2 brothers jumping on Goombas and going down pipes. If you think of the Super Mario Bros. movie as not being a movie based on the game, it is actually very good.

Yeah I want a sequel too but I doubt it will happen...At the box office Super Mario Bros. was shunned and despised by both the public and the critics alike. Besides the sequel to Super Mario Bros. just wouldn't be the same without most of the original cast.*Sigh.*:( It would be like the Empire Strikes Back with a completely different cast.:mad:

The movie was so, so, so like, terrible, haha I;m surprised though that nobody has brought up that porno movie that Ron Jeremy did called Super Hornio Brothers, apparently he is Mario!

Whoa.......I honestly had believed Super Hornio Bros. was just an urban legend....
I thought the movie was entertaining; I'm not saying it was a good movie, I'm saying it was ENTERTAINING. That is, I found it humorous and fun in a campy way. For some odd reason, I loved the fact that they showed Yoshi as some kind of odd, horrid midget T-Rex, which, I guess, in a way he always really was.
I feel bad for Bob Hoskins, though; I think it was this movie that completely killed his career.
