I think Yngwie Malmsteen is one of the fastest guitarists alive. And I absolutely adore his playing, anyone else here a fan?

In case you are wondering who he is. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyMX-aEegI8&search=Yngwie%20malmsteen)

I saw him in concert with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. He was good, but extremely, unnervingly cocky. >.>

He's very technical................but BORING as hell. I don't care ONE BIT 'bout how fast a band plays, I care more 'bout how GOOD their collective playing sounds.

fast songs can get boring.

Very good technically but his songwriting and creativity is lacking which is, in my view, what makes a great guitarist.

Oh, that arrogant guy that swings the guitar round his head and plays the same song over the top of different music?

He's ok, but I wouldn't consider him a great guitarist. He's also too fat for those leather pants he wears.

Whenever he's not shredding his music is amazing so are his solos, Michael Angelo is faster, believe me. Malmsteen is pretty amazing but he shouldn't shred so often.

I love Malmsteen's work, he's a cocky bastard, but he's still a damn good guitarist. He's a very technical player, not the kind of playing that everyone enjoys.

Yeah, he was good in his band, he's not very creative.

I've never heard of him to be honest, but who else read Yngwie as Yngve?

His actual name is Yngve Malmsten. He just changed it to make it look more retarded.

Yeah, not my sort of thing. He's undeniably highly skilled at what he does, though.
