What.. I'm confused. I'm sure this is Powerpuff Girls, but they are teenagers and .. okay, you can see for yourself.

Anyway, don't think it's in North America or if it ever will be. But it'd totally pwn the original version I think, although it was adorably cute.

I wonder if Tara Strong will still use her voice for bubbles... she is a good voice actress.

Something about the whole making of that makes me want to say it's fake, but it really looks legit.

But the idea of an anime version of the Powerpuff Girls, including the requisite makeovers of all involved characters to make them look ridiculous, plus calling the thing friggin' Powerpuff Girls Z, all seems like the stuff of parody.

It's not fake. I watched the first episode.

Actually, it's a different story from that of the original Powerpuff Girls. They were three normal, completely unrelated teenagers in Tokyo before they were hit with errant doses of Chemical Z, which turned them into super heroines. Actually, they all get hit with the chemical the same way. In each of the three instances, it was flying at some kid on the street and they jumped in front of them to save them. The transformation scenes are not unlike those of Sailor Moon.

Indeed, I think I saw the second ep out on torrent somewhere.

Oh, I could tell by the workmanship in the intro video that it's legit, but still, seeing everything played out the way it did seems almost like something that someone would do as a parody.

This anime is great :D *waits for ep4*

The emphasis on food is ridiculously high though, it's like everything revolves around it :p

Yeah, uh, Cartoon Network asked Toei to make it. So that explains it, and you can see the Cartoon Network logo in the credits. So it's very much legit. I think CN will probably bring it over to the U.S. after a while. It's a different story slightly of Powerpuff Girls, but I can't decide which I like better. It's hard because I was a kid when I watched Powerpuff Girls, now I'm so much older and watching this.. sickeningly cute and kiddie show, but I still enjoy it.

It's legit, and apparantly there are two more cartoon network shows due for a similar translation in 2007.

I have to say I'm very slightly creeped out by the whole thing.

Tsk. Full Metal Alchemist wannabes. Just look at that episode opening. :mad2:
Actually, I would have much rather watched this as a kid.

Haha that made me laugh.

I was wondering though, why would this version have a different story? Cartoon Network does plan to show it in the U.S. so... it's sort of weird.
