How to get A chocobo?

How do i get a chocobo? I dont have the game yet and im goona be a black mage....

but anyways, im goona want to get a chocobo as soon as i can, so canm someone tell me were to get one? I heard something about getting eggs.

To ride a chocobo and rent one, you need to be lvl 20 in a job, get 4 Gausebit Grass, and trade them one at a time to the chocobo in Upper Jeuno, once per in-game day (1hr real life time).

To Raise a Chocobo of your own, you need an egg, and that hasnt been implimented yet.
