how do u cacth chocobos without paying the kid i just cant cacth this skill

Press Square to get the ChocoGraph menu, then switch to the Sonar. Walk around with the X (or whatever button uses it) button pressed until the beeping gets faster and the red bar gets longer. Once it is beeping rapidly, press Square and switch to the Ziner, and use it. A chicobo will fall down. Do this until only 1 chicobo is down, and its mother will come.

Here's where the chicobo is in the Forest of Solitude. (http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/final_fantasy_viii_forest_of_solitude.jpg) That is easily the toughest forest. The others are pretty easy, except for a couple in Centra.
