Here is a list by the folks at Next Generation which features the "Top 100" games of this century. Please not that this is solely based on sales of the games, not how awesome a game is. I would post the whole list here, but I would rather want you to take a look of the list yourself. :D

I shall warn you though, you will either be very disappointed, or happy. Probably disappointed.

The list (http://next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3537&Itemid=2&limit=1&limitstart=1)

Remember, this is based solely on sales.

Grr... the site is blocked at my job. Would someone care to provide an alternate link, or maybe copypaste here?

Please remember that FFX was the first Final Fantasy of this century, which started 2001, so including and FF games before 2001 is redunctant because that was the 20th Century.

Remember, this is a list for the 21st Century.

If you can find a list of the best sellers of the 22nd century that would really help me out so I know what to buy in the future when it comes out.

Based on nothing but sales huh? I guess I can't complain then.

I am just happy Ninja Gaiden made the list. That game was awesome to the max. The game was challenging and remained very fun...all of this while being true to the original game. I was very pleased.

50 Cent: Bulletproof? >_> Idiots.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is on there? That's actually a very pleasant surprise.

Why are they being so mean to Kirby: Air Ride? ;__;

Enter the Matrix?! DIE!

True Crime is way too high on that list at all, which is a crime in and of itself.

While I can't see the site, I can imagine what some of the top games are. These are the mainstream games that more people are buying. Grand Theft Auto was (obviously) a huge franchise for the Playstation, but now that it's on the 360 as well, these mainstream people may just go for the cheaper system.
But this post would probably lead to an arguement that belongs in another thread...

Quite interesting. It would be awesome to see a top 100 list of all-time, though... that would really be something.

Super Mario Bros and Tetris would probably win, since they were pack-ins with the NES and GB respectively. Pokemon Red/Blue would probably come in 3rd.
Nintendo Power indeed.

Should have guessed that GTA would have hit top spot..

That list isn't actually as out of whack as I expected. There are things a bit mixed up (Such as KH being higher than FFX - wtf?) but in general, there aren't terribly many surprises for me there.

It would be interesting to see how things worked out if PC games were included. I expect Oblivion and WoW would make a significant impact, as well as Half-Life 2, and various Sims stuff.

Nothing particularly surprising, since the whiole thing is based on sales. Obviously some good games didn't make the cut and some awful ones did, but we should all be used to that sort of thing by now. And like MILFy, I'd like to see how this list would look if PC games were included.

If I recall correctly, the top-selling video game ever is Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES. I think Ocarina of Time is also really, really high on the list. Like, 2nd or 3rd.

I believe all of it based on sales. Every single thing. Sadly though, it's not actually accurate to what games are good.

The only people you can call idiots for putting that game on the list are the ones who bought it.

If you people don't like the order on the list then you must go out and buy hundreds of thousands of copies of the game that you do love to right this wrong! :yellowkin

TOP 20 GAMES OF ALL TIME (SALES) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best_selling_computer_and_video_games#Top_20)

Size'd and bold'd for stand-outedness. May have gotten lost otherwise.

Looks like my previous guesses were close. Super Mario Bros, the NES Pack-in comes in at the top with over 40 million. Next is Pokemon, then Tetris the GB Pack-in.

Heavy Nintendo presence in the top 20.

Other lists on that same page, this just goes straight to the top 20.

Anybody who lives until about 2045 will see technology for limitless lifespan. Anyone who lives until probably 2050 will see it become cheap for all. Tech singularity ftw. But that's offtopic.
