See my brother's birthday is coming up on August 9th and he'll be 32. But uh, just what do you get for 30-something-yr-olds?

Gift cards are everyones best friends. :)

We always get my father CDs, which works well. If he's a gamer, then it's really easy, get him a good game. You can find some nice ones on eBay or used for very little money.

Get him a wallet. A NICE wallet. That always works for me. But, I'm 12. So....I don't know.

Well, I actually live with my oldest brother, of whom turned 37 this past June. So I was literally in your shoes no more than a few months ago.

Sayin' that, the best advice I can give you is to either find out what his passion is (my brother's a musician in his spare time, so I laid down some bucks to help buy him a new Triton) or do something that both of you can do, like take him to the movies.

Trust me, at that age it's usually the thought that counts.

You can get him a watch. That's an easy cop out. But it depends, describe your brother a little.

Thanks for all your suggestions :D

Well, he's a casual guy, buys a lot of techy stuff like blackberries (or whatever they're called) and knows a lot about computers and electronics. He's into anime, especially Ghost In The Shell and DBZ.

Hmm yeah, I don't know anything else except for the fact he teases me like there's no tomorrow. -__-

Oooh yeah, I agree with the poster above me. Amazon.com does giftcards. You could get him one of those and let him choose what he wants.

Hmmm, I'd say 29 & 1/2 years olds are worse...

Gift cards are too impersonal in my opinion. It's like saying, "I know you, but I don't know you enough to get you something you would like. So you can choose what you want instead." Hm, since he's a techy maybe you should get him something like this:
Talking toliet paper holder (http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1750&ageid=615&occid=989&gpp=24&p=6&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1750%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D989%26gpp%3D24%26p%3D6&pid=73179)
Since he teases you so much then maybe you should get back at him with that and record a funny message on it. Or just get him watch like I said before and maybe personalize it with his name.

I think a good way to go would be to buy him some After Shave...

Or is it called Cologne in Canada? You know, the stuff guys put on themselves after they have a shower, or if they have a date.

If you want some advice on which AfterShave/Cologne to buy, then here is a list:

1: Issey Miyake (Very popular)
2: Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier
3: Givenchy (Beauuuuuutiful smell)
4: Diesel Red (I love this smell)
5: Hugo Boss (Anything by Hugo Boss. He's great)

I'd say you should go with Cologne. Every guy likes to smell nice

LOL dude, that's sweet. He always does take forever in the washroom.. :rolleyes2 Hmm, I'll either get him that or a Ghost In The Shell DVD. *shrugs*

Dellas, so great to know you know so much about cologne. *pokes* That's a good idea too!

Mmmmmmm....

I just love cologne....

Sometimes, when I'm feeling especially strange and lovable, I just spray myself with Givenchy and spend the whole day smelling myself...

...

I just realised...

I am a wierd guy :eep: :erm: :whoa:

Looks like I'm fitting in perfectly well here on EoFF

Hahah I love you Dellas, and yes smelling yourself all day is perfectly fine. I'm sure my brother does the same.

You know something...

Your brother must be pretty damn cool...

Why?

Because his sister is pretty damn cool

Sigh... I am jealous of him... I wish I had a cool sister :crying:

When he was just sweet, innocent Dellas18.

I also love perfume, btw, and it does make a great gift. Also, good quality socks, like a pair of Darn Toughs. Until you have 10 pairs, you cannot have enough.

I think the real question is: what do you get your 49 year-old brother for his birthday?
