I read about these on my way to Mandee's wedding. They very much interest me because I'm a poseur....I mean gamer.

As I have a main PC with well over 400 gigs of storage I just want a 'bare bones' gaming-able laptop. I also build my own machines so the idea of 'dude you got a dell!' is an insult to me. Since I can't build one, I have to corporate whore a brand name.

Alienware laptops don't look as cool to me. It looks like I'm already sold, so it's either 'tell pg to go for it and here are more reasons why' or 'you are a fool and here's why'.

Or whatever. Discuss :)

Overpriced. You could get a custom built Asus for much cheaper.

Check some online stores like GenTech who build notebooks to your specifications. Companies that specialize and cater to the "gamer" crowd usually charage extra just for the name.

Yams is right.

Although I've noticed that Sager make some pretty good asus builds, so you might want to check them out. Just don't buy a Voodoo because of how it looks, because you can always get a custom paint job from a few professional places, for a lot cheaper.
