Well, I don't really understand the question. Do you mean the cinematics at the end and start? Or the way the story begins/ends?

I think for the last 5 FFs. The ending cinematic was weak (beside FF10). Which game had the best Cinematic at the start, FF8 for sure. The whole fight with seifer was awsome (best part was when feather turns into sword).

But if it wasn't meant to be the cinematics. I'd say FF7 has the best start and ending, its neat how it shows him doing his first mission for Avalanche, and finally beating his nemesis in the end.

I liked FF8's intro a lot, but liked FF7's ending a lot more. FF8's ending will always hold a place in my heart due to nostalgia (first FF I played), but in the long run, I'd prefer watching FF7's end than FF8 at any given moment.

I'd agree. It was a very stylish opening. :D I think FFX's ending gives VIII's a run for its money, but it's still better. It was seriously perfect.

I agree also. I absolutely love both the beginning and the ending scenes. Definatly the best in the series. FFX had some pretty nice ones too and I've always loved the end of FFVI aswell, but VIII takes the cake ;)

FFVIII's Liberi Fatali intro FMV is stunning, but other than that, I thought FFVIII's beginning was quite slow and uninteresting. The classroom scenes, drawing spells and getting Ifrit just weren't too exciting for me. The ending FMV is kinda great, though. I thought FFIX had the best beginning and ending, although FFIV is quite close too.
