They (corperations) want us to stop driving so much, so that's the only way to achieve their goal.

Because the government wants to take as much money as they can off you. Public transport is over priced as well.

Walk, run, ride a bike, carpool, get an electric car, solar, hydrogen power, etc...

I walk instead of drive - saves me countless dollars in the long run. So I could get to work in five or ten minutes instead of walking, which takes around an hour, so what? I save so much in the end anyways, and there is nothing better than a brisk walk in the morning to wake oneself.

cause the government wants to suck as much money out of us as possible. soon, we'll have to go back to horses and carriages if the prices keep going up:(

Yeah, it sucks... it's also expensive here in Denmark. Move to Norway or any other country that has a lot of oil...

you know if you think about it its like the cheapest liquid on the planet. a gallon of bottled water is normally more exspensive then a gallon of gas. atleast it is here in new york. dasani is like $1.50 a bottle around here. and it takes a few bottles to equal a gallon but even 2 bottles which isnt even a half a gallon is more exspensive then 1 gallon of gas. so face it you're getting off pretty lucky when it comes to gas prices.

It's gonna be worse when you're driving, slide out of control, and die in a car crash because you forgot that brakes don't work on icy roads.

Water is free. You pay for filtration and bottling.

We call getting things for free 'stealing'. water is a recyclable resource, like the internet, but electricity is not so much. and definitely not land.

It's all going to be gone in our lifetime so why bitch so much? Sure, use it while you can but it's going to be super expensive right before it goes pop.

Partly because of constant and escalating tensions in the middle east, partly because of the business in that Alaskan pipeline, and partly because oil supplies are beginning to dwindle, and this is being recognized.

Invest in fuel cells and nano-scale solar cells. You will make more money than you can calculate.

It's pretty annoying, yeah, and I don't think it's an option for everyone to walk - I live way out in the country, and the winters get pretty bitterly cold, so it'd be a major pain to walk around three miles starting probably at 6AM during winter.

I'm lucky that my parents do pay for my gas, and because I'm grateful, I try to be conservative. Ever since prices started going up major (~2.70 and up) I've just stopped going places innecessantly. During school I'm planning on carpooling with friends and mostly just using my car for going to and coming home from school. I'm hoping that something will get figured out as an alternative, but everyone's been hoping that since prices were SKYROCKETING OMFG back in '99, and we're still ways off.

So basically you gotta learn to live with it and not be so wasteful of gas.

I know gas prices are on the rise, really sucks because I just got a car recently!
I can't walk anywhere anyway I live out in the country and I'm not walking to the city and then all the way across it. It would take me all day to get there.. or I'd get run over by a car....
