If you could controll time just once in your life and once only would you go forward or backwards. Remember wherever you go you would be stuck for the rest of your life. Future, or past . Only once.

I would like to live my life again, from the start. Obviously I would have some knowledge of what's going to happen next, and maybe construct myself the perfect life!

I will go back as well, to correct many mistakes and stop many hurtful things, I will go backwards, it is better than forward, at least I would know what would happen.

Alive man deserves credit for that answer. It was very logicall and interesting. However you might not be able to remember much of it if you are starting over as a baby...

Definitley the past. Sooooooooooooo much i would change.

Although..... i have learned much from my bad choices and mistakes.... so changing them is good so long as i don't forget what i learned from them (which i guess i wouldnt if im changing them)

I would go to my boyfriend, get nice and cuddly on the couch with him and then slow time waaaaaaaaaaaay down so that moment can last and last and last.

Why would I want to go backward, I've already done all that. And I don't really want to see the future before it arrives. The present is good enough for me. I just wish time wouldn't pass by so quickly.

Neither. Well, that assumes I can't take anything with me. If I could in fact transpose my current situation to an equivalent situation in another time - eg if I could go to 2100 but still be about to start college in two months - I'd go to the near future. I'd be happy to skip about twenty to thirty years, because that's when things are going to get really interesting, and I want to be around to see them happen (Thus no distant future).

Unless I could have an attendant extended lifespan to take me up to at least 2050 regardless of when I started, I wouldn't go back in time without a way back. It'd be nice to experience certain things, and to influence them, but I'd rather see the future.

I'd change the past, to put me in another place that isn't London.

I would go to a casino and watch the spin on a roulette table. Then go back in time like 5 min and place all the money I have on the number the ball landed on and then I could scream Im reich biotch!!!

Other than that I wouldnt want to go back or foreward cuz it would be boring knowing whats goin to happen next and I want to live each and every last day of my life to the full.

I also have another reason for wanting time travel. I have finally found my true love but she is already taken, please god, grant me this power. I just want to be with her. OH GOD WHY IS IT ALWAYS LIKE THIS!!!! You show me the beauty of your creations, then you throw mud up in my face, you destroy my dream, WHY!!!!!

I would go back to the exact moment you created this thread and remind you that control only has one 'L' in it. ;)

Fate Fatale
08-08-2006, 12:24 AM
Oh yeah, and it's spelled control, not controll.

But still, I'm rather confused why you would want to change anything. there's a reason no one has invented a time machien thus far. It's because the people who can make it are smart enough to know that by messing with time, you could destroy reality as we now know it.

Of course it would be very useful to go back and change everything I smurfed up. However, would I still be me when I get to what is now? Maybe things wouldn't change for the better. Maybe I wouldn't like what I become.

i'd go to the near future cause if i went into the paast, i'd have to meet all my friends again and i'd have to relive everything. even if i would be able to correct mistakes, i'm happy right now.

Actually, I think the reason we've not invented a time machine is because we don't know how to build one.

There are things in my past that I would like to change, but what's done is done and there is no use in trying to create the perfect life as everything can change with one decision, and then you could end up having an even worse life, even if that one decision was an improved one... hope that makes sense.

As for the future, I have no desire to rush through things. I want to live my life in real time, thanks.

I would go way back, to a time when civilization was still young. Of course, I would probably have to pretend to be a man or something, depending where I went, but I'd still love to experience ancient times :)

I wouldn't want to change anything that has happened in my past. What choices I made in my past are the ones that seemed right to me at the time, at that moment. No point in having regrets.

I'd wanna go back to being 5....I miss my childhood now that i am 13...

In ten years time, you will think of 13 as part of "childhood." Sorry to pull a (uses bitter geezer voice) "I'm a lot older and wiser than you, you whipper-snapper!"

What gives!? I see that a few people voted for one or the other "future" choices, but nobody has said anything about it. Admittedly, I have thought about what it would be like to relive my life with all of the knowledge I presently have.

I voted "distant future," though. Sometimes I imagine what I would think of today's world as if I were someone from the 16th, or whatever, century. It would have to be incredible! I would like to see how humanity will advance, say...300 or 400 years from now....hopefully there will still be a humanity!
