Well I started on ff9 and I liked it so I decided to try ff7. Immediately I didn't like the blue style of the menu, but I kept going. I got to the area where there is stairs and boxes all over or whatever and I could not find my way to next area because it was so dark. I quit the game after a while. So now my friends are telling me to try and play it again because it's so great and whatever but I don't know. Can anyone help get out of that area? :)

Not liking the menu style isn't a good enough reason to not like a game. Unless it's unreadable, which it was readable. You should definately keep playing as you haven't even gotten to the gist of the game yet.

You can change the menu color. Try again.

Only you can answer this question, Rinöa.

It wasn't the menu it was the lack of finding where to go after 20 minutes!

Dial up your screen bright. The early game is incredibly linear, and usually tells you where to go.

Lol. Blue menus has been the standard since FF4. That's why FF9 has a "classic" style for the menus, which makes them blue.
Actually. FF3 might have had blue menus, I don't really remember much from it. can't remember if 1 and 2 had blue menus on the original release either. They do in the remakes.

Oh, I forgot. FF8 had grey menus. That explains why it surprised you. Really though, blue is classic.

FFI, II, and III all had blue menus.

Yeah, it isn't that bad of the game. Maybe not the best game in the world, but it's still pretty amazing.

And confusing...

I like the blue menus, especially 9's. That looked really nice. It's 8's that looked boring and dull.

You can change the menus in FF6. The alternatives aren't that great though.

Um people, how long has it been since you played this game? Just hit Select, I think. And it points out your character with a finger and all the exits with green triangles or something if I remember correctly. Its been years since I've played but I know they put that feature in

Actually I went to go play it and I found out the first disc was missing! And I had actually wanted to play!

While theres not much point now, I believe if you were early on you might of been in the room with the thugs with the kid doing a limit break on the other. Dont go around there, head to the bar.

I might be totally wrong but whatever, Im bored :eep:

Yes, change the menu color if it really bothers you. Which place are you referring to when you said a room with boxes? Pressing some button (I think it was Select, but I'm not sure) will give you the directions, so you'll know where you are and where the exits are. If that's the inn in Sector 7 slums, it usually helps when you go to the bar. If that doesn't help you, it might be that your party is about to invade the next Mako Reactor. In that case, head to the Train Station. I can't remember the exact details since I haven't played the game for like 4 years.

Toss in Disc 2. You'll have issues with FMVs, but you can always look at those online.

Or you could look for the PC version online.

Rinöa

It will play on disc 2?

Ryushikaze

The entire game code is on every disc. The FMVs aren't, so you'll miss those (and thus part of the plot), but those are all locatable online.

I think you can skip the FMVS by opening and closing the disc tray when they start.

You gotta buy it :] Try e-bay or amazon. But I'm not sure you'd want it. It doesn't have real music

That was quick. BTB, if you're using the PC version, you might as well download the model and music patches.
There's one other patch that is vital to complete the game, so it doesn't hang up on one part.
