I beat the first disc at lv 11

Is this normal? I realized after I started playing a couple of days that I was too low of a level and started leveling up and Im about to fight bitchrix for the final time at lv 16 I think. Am I going slow?

Umm...I dunno. I think I was normally around that level when I did it. I think I remember forcing my self to 20 before....somewhere after Beatrix...so yeah. I think you're about normal.

Unless you've gone out of your way to level up, the first disc dosen't give you much opportunities for levelling. I beat the first disc with Zidane at Lvl 9.

I actually break the first disc at whatever lvl you start with. :bigsmile:

I usually break it at lvl6 with Zidane and Freya at 9 (Level Up ability)

Beatrix is actually easy to "beat" if you know what you're doing, so you don't need high levels against her. From what I've noticed when fighting her, you can end the battle by draining a certain amount of her HP, or by surviving a certain number of turns.

If you just want to survive, that's quite easy since you have four characters and Beatrix can only kill one of them at a time. Just keep skipping everyone's turn by pressing Triangle and make sure they all have their turns ready. Maybe have Quina cast Mighty Guard. Whenever someone dies, have someone else use a Phoenix Down on that character. That way she can never kill all your characters if you're fast enough. Eventually she'll just use her special move to end the battle.

I cant recall the actual level, but I did spend ages getting all the abilites possible on the first disk. Im replaying the game now and Im level 4 Zidane in the Evil Forest.

I remeber i was lvl 14 cuz it was my first rpg so i suked and couldnt kill gizmaluke (i know bad or wat) then the 2nd i was 10 and when i did it for my sis i was 9

Most of my characters were lvl. 6 or 7 when I got to the second disc. But Zidane was level 23. (I killed everyone and fought with him alone for most of the game)

To get to level 99? Even on disk 3 when I'm fighting them at Daguerro, once you get up in the sixties it takes four or five battles to get one level....then later, probably 12 or more battles. What's your idea of "doesn't take too long?"

I simply meant that it would be a hell of a lot faster than fighting mus and goblins which, I assume, a lot of people were thinking of. Getting up to level 99 in any FF is a time investment.

usually if you go through the game without running away from battles, you'll be a high enough level.

did you beat the whole game at level one? or was it just a level 1 ozma thing. anyway. usually around 13 or 14 would be good but 11's good enough. could make things a little tricky though.

Disc 4, level 31. Not intending on finishing the game though. It's too hard at this level, and I don't have the patience for this kind of thing.
