Level 40

I tried to go through the game with the lowest levels I could but now I'm at the final dungeon at level 40... Are the enemies that tough I want to try and pull this off. (Note: I am playing the GBA version it is the only one avalible to me.)

it's usually easy enough but if you want to get all the optional weapons i suggest at least everyone 60 or over.

Forty isn't hugely ridiculous. I've had low forties several times.

I beat the game with all characters around level 60, which is about the optimum level against Zeromus.

You can probably complete the game in the mid-30's if you tried hard enough.

wicked masks are an absolute bastard. if you're too low level to run though, edge's smoke works well.

While guides claim you can't run away from them, I've run away from them several times, using Edge's smoke. I'm not sure if it's possible with L+R buttons. It's quite easy to run away from Behemoths anyway since I don't think they'll attack unless you attack them first. The boss music plays during them, so they probably count as bosses, and I think bosses are immune to Zantetsuken.

If you just want to beat those enemies, just keep fighting Behemoth slowly until it dies, taking your time to heal your characters between your attacks since it won't attack you except when countering. Kill Blue Dragons with Flare and physical attacks. To beat Zemus' Mind, cast Holy, Flare and some other powerful spell at it since it only has 20,000 HP. Rosa and Rydia probably don't have those spells if you're playing on such low levels, but I'm not sure if Palom and Porom have them.

Lowering the battle speed can help a lot. I tried fighting Zeromus on levels 58-62 in the hard type version for SNES on the fastest speed, and he was almost impossible. I changed to the normal battle speed (3rd fastest), and he was actually quite easy. Changing to the slowest battle speed will probably make him beatable even on your levels, provided your characters can survive his Big Bang attack.

I've beaten him in the 40s myself (late 40s, anyway), like I did when I completed the faq (even on the Hardtype version). You have to be patient though. Thankfully, text goes by mega-fast in the GBA version.

You can run from the monsters in the crystal floors of the moon. But I use Edge's Smoke, as it's faster.

zemus' breath is good exp on the last floor of the game. all it does is scan you.

I beat the game with my highest character being a 36. I only fought the bosses and chest monsters. NO RANDOM BATTLES. It wasnt as hard as I thought but some monsters did give me trouble. Theres a nice strategy to use too when only fighting bosses and it has to do with the chest monsters. :)

Now im going through with only Cecil and the only part that gave me trouble were the doors in the underground crystal cave. Ninth Dimension sucks! But I got past it after leveling up alot.

My characters were all about level 40 - 45 when I beat the game. I wasn't even trying to do a challenge :(

I beat Zeromus with an average party lvl of about 60. Big Bang had killed everyone except Cecil. The only thing I could do was attack with Cecil, and heal with elixers. Ironically, I won.

He was VERY HARD. But maybe that's because I was playing FF4 for PS1. I'm sure the remake was MUCH easier.

Yes, Zeromus in FFIV PSX is very hard because that's the Hard Type version. He's just as hard in FFIV SNES Hard Type. I still lost to him a few times in FFIV SNES USA (aka "FF2") with the fastest speed until I got to levels 55-58, though he was a bit of a joke in the GBA version, at least on the normal battle speed.

Thought I'd give alittle update on how I'm doing (Why not :P)
I decided that I would get better equipment which ment searching threw chests. I'm able to defeat the monsters I encounter from the chests. I was able to defeat the White Dragon and Obtain Edge's Murasume (Hope I spelt that right) The battle was tough... At the beginning of the battle he would consistently use slow so I would have Rosa cast haste on Edge, Cecil or Kain, and have Rydia revive anyone who died from a physical attack with a phenoix down since it appeared as if the White Dragon countered all of her summons. When he used a more hurtful attack I would have Rosa use Curaja and if my Hp was was low enough to die from earthquake. I figured that as long as I could last at most 37 of my attacks I could win this way. (It worked :P)

At the end of the battle it looked pretty bad though Kain and Rydia were dead and my Hp was so low it was impossible for me to heal myself in time so I went on an all out offensive and killed him right before he killed me!
