Hi,

If I want to make Agrias' Holy Sword abilities stronger, should I try to increase her PA or MA?

Thanks.

PA.

To answer your question I had to consult aerostar's authoritative (and very dense) Battle Mechanics Guide on gamefaqs.com. :greenie:

Here's how damage is calculated for each attack:

Stasis Sword: PA * (WP + 2)
Split Punch: PA * (WP + 3)
Crush Punch: PA * (WP + 2)
Lightning Stab: PA * (WP + 4)
Holy Explosion: PA * (WP + 5)

WP = Weapon Power

So you can also improve her damage by equipping her with more powerful swords.

Thanks for taking the time to figure that out for me. It's unfortunate that Agrias seems to have naturally higher MA than PA (as a Holy Knight).

It's been a while since I've played, what the helled-horrors is "MA" and "PA"?

Sure thing. :)

Unfortunately for Agrias, female units tend to have stats (in terms of HP, MP and the like) that favor magical jobs while male units are skewed toward physical jobs. It's part of the reason that Orlandu is more devastating with the same skills, even with the same weapon.

PA is Physical Attack, a measure of how much damage your characters do with weapons and nonmagical abilities.

MA is Magic Attack, a measure of how much damage they do with spellcasting and the like.

They are affected by the jobs the attacker and defender are in, Brave, Faith, sex, Zodiac alignment, equipment and accessories, and protective magic.
