He doesnt want this actor to do remakes....It's a prequel, not a remake. Fletch is a series of nine books, only two of which have been adapted in the past, so there's plenty of fresh source material remaining.

Not that I know anything about this Fletch stuff. But if the source material is funny too, then I'm an even happier camper.
