How cold does it have to be outside for you to consider it cold enough to wear a jacket? Essentially, what temperature do you consider cold? Oh, and vice-versa, what do you consider hot?

I don't usually wear a jacket at all. I will wear a sweatshirt sometimes if it gets below 55 though. But usually I prefer to enjoy it. It isn't really cold unless it is in the 40's. At least not for me.

As for heat, I find that the high 60's and low 70's are perfect. Above that, and is too hot. I don't like the heat, except for the fact that it means I get to go swimming. I like swimming. :)

If the snow is sticking to the ground, I wear a hoody. That's about it.

Cold is when I start getting... cold. But I live in southern California, so I don't have much experience with that general temperature.

Cold is considered to be the zero absolute which equals the temperature where all the particles stop their movement...thatīs what it is...

-272C that is.

It often gets below -30C/-22F in the winters here. That is rather cold. Cold is however kind of relative. If it's -15C and the sun is shining, you don't need a jacket, but if it's 15C and heavy wind, you do. I do not mind cold though, as you can just put on a jacket if you're freezing. Heat is much worse as there's a limit to how much clothes you can take off.

When your testicles no longer exist, I'd say it's cold enough.

That wasn't really the question though. :P

I'd say a good temperature to wear a hoodie would be around 60F and anything below that. Hot is anything above 82F.

45-60 is the ideal hoody and jeans wear.

anything less and it's coat time.

I wear a coat every time I go out, I have too much stuff I need to carry to not wear it.

It is cold for me when it is under 20 C, and hot for me when it gets over 30C. that's all for it.

Its in the 60s here, and I wore a jacket and was shivering.
I don't know what it is in Fahrenhuit, but when it got to -10.C in winter I almost died, it was too cold for snow, we just got ice every single morning. Oh god *shudder*

I'll usually wear a sweatshirt or jacket if it manages to get below 50°F now, and anything above 70°F is shorts weather.

I used to consider anything above 50°F to be hot, and it had to get below 30°F for me to put on anything extra. California has made me wimpy. :(

The temperature isn't the only factor in deciding if it's cold enough to wear certain types of clothing. You have to consider the amount of time you'll be out in the elements. If it was 20 degrees F and I was just going to my car outside my apartment to go to work, I would still only wear shorts and a T-shirt because I would be in the weather for all of 1 minute.

I get chilly at about 55 degrees F, I guess.

If it's above 85ish degrees farenheit,then i'm hot.

It's cold outside when my hands and ears are cold... Then I'll know I definitely need to wear a winter coat - and gloves and maybe a hat as well, of course.

It's much easier to tell when it's too hot to wear a winter coat when going outside... I tend to sweat just a tad when I'm really hot :eep:

Any and every day here in Scotland I'd say it's cold enough to wear a jacket. There's the odd day when it might be alright to not wear a jacket, but I don't like leaving home without my jacket anyway - the weather here tends to go from sunny and warm to cold and wet in a matter of moments. :D

I consider everything to be shorts weather. Mostly because I don't own any pants, only shorts. So during the winter, when it gets colder and snowy, I still wear shorts, I just add a sweatshirt into the mix. :p

I wear a coat indoors and take it off when I go out. My house used to get very cold before we had central heating

I'm from the north of england, so anywhere between 5 and -10 degrees C. I usually switch from a short sleeved top to a long sleeve before I start wearing a jacket.

I start having to wear a jacket around 0 degrees. Other than that, it's fine. However, i get hot at 25 and higher. Celcius, of course.

Around 60 is probably when I get a bit chilly. Over 85 is getting warm, but I don't really get bothered by heat until it reaches the 90s, unless I'm trying to sleep.
