I like using z's in words randomly. Yeah. But here they are. They are all different versions of the same one, because I couldn't think of anything else to do, and I was playing around with the effects and liked these ones. :p

EDIT: Any critisism on things that I could do better are welcome with open arms and invited to stay the night. =]

They're pretty good for beginners. The first one is the best IMO.

Keep it up.

EDIT:Yay!First response!

Thanks. I just kinda started messing with my program until I sort figured some stuff out. :p

Oh, here is my original original. I didn't like it as much, and thought I could do better, so I made the others.

EDIT: And a new one. I was just messing around with this one learning to render it.

Yay. I figured out how to round the edges. I think it looks a lot better now. I got that one in my sig now.

But I still would welcome some experienced persons opinion and critisism.

I like them. In your current sig, it would look cool if you made the white parts transparent.

Oh. Whoops. I didn't even notice that. *Off to try and fix*

You may probably have to remove the shadow, though.

Yeah, but I have no idea how to do that. Grrr.

you could use the lasso tool to select around it(I would just lasso the part you want to keep and then use 'select inverse'). Then delete it(feather it if you feel the need).

Just remember for tranparancy online you must use GIF or PNG as the file format(or at least they are the most popular ones).

Well, I don't know what the lasso tool is. I am using GIMP by the way. In case that helps. I don't know much about it. I am just playing around with it to learn it. :p

Anyways, I made yet another.

Lasso Tool in GIMP is The third tool on the first row called "select hand-drawn regions". The shortcut key to activate this tool is 'F'.

I hope that helps, and GIMP is crazy fun to use :D. And I hope to see that rounded one transparent soon .

Ah. Thanks. I greatly appreciate the help.

Gimp is so much fun and easy to use. these sigs you made are very good for a biggener, you'd figure out Gimp soon. ;)

Heh. That means a lot coming from you Owen. You got good stuff. :)

Okay, so I got messing around with some brushes I got of of deviantart and this was my fist result. But it is a to big to be a sig(60.1kb), so I have to figure out how to fix that. And I need to figure out a good color for the text. I couldn't figure one out. Bleh.

Don't ask me on text :D.

However, for file sizes. Judging from the file extension as well as the file size I am sure it is a PNG-24, which is the bulkiest web based file type I know of[even beats 100 quality jpeg last I checked].

JPEG- Likely the best overall format for the final version baring a few exceptions. These exceptions are if it has animation/transparancy/fading-like-effects and if you need to go re-edit it the lossy factor can hurt you.

GIF- This is the animation format. I can't really think of another competitive animation format that is widely supported.

PNG- There are two kinds. the png-8 and the png-24. png-24 is the best for transprancies and certian effects(though the effects are by a small margin). png-8 is very similar to the gif format except it is smaller and doesn't support animation.

Basically the rule of thumb is-

1)Does it have transparancy? If yes use png(either 8 or 24 depending on size restraints). If not ask:
2)Does it have animation? If yes use gif. If not ask:
3)If I save as PNG-24 will it be too large? If yes use jpeg. If not use png.

Just remember to always have a non-lossy save of your sig for editing later(best bet in gimp is to save as a xcf?(the default gimp filetype)).

There you go a quick run down on the three really common types I see.

Anyways as for this latest one.... the render feels kinda clashy to me. Perhaps try blending it?

I...have no idea what blending is. o0

Thanks for the extension info. I will be sure to remember that.

Oh!. Thanks alot. :)

Ehm, about the best text I guess it could be red with black stroke around it to make it visible.
and as of blending, you can do it easily by using a soft edged eraser and set its opacity to a low value, about 40-50 or may be less, and erase the edges of the render, no completly though, just so it look to blend with the background.
as of that sig, I think the background is really cool, just bled the render and it should look fine. ;)

Wow. It has been a long time since I put anything in here. I had to go back a ways to find this thread. After all, I don't think I really need a new one.

Anyways. I made a new signature, and I wanted to share it. So here.

Oh. Actually, there are two, but one is unfinished.
