The Grand EoFF Mario Kart DS Tournament

Okay, so if anyone has seen Endless's DS Friend List thread, you would know that Mario Kart DS has far and away the most people involved here on EoFF. With that in mind, I have enlisted a little help from Jowy in organizing the First Grand EoFF Mario Kart DS Tournament!

Anyone is free to join, so long as you have a friend code and all. There will be 24 spots in all, and the winner gets to brag to everyone else about how awesome they are at Mario Kart. It'll be three rounds in all, played out as such:

First round = 6 groups of 4 people, finish in top two to advance
Second round = 4 groups of 3, win to advance
Final round = last 4 people, winner take all

I'm aware we're all pretty spread out across the world, so locale will be taken slightly into consideration when it comes to the first draw. The second round draw will be completely random, so don't be surprised if you finish 1-2 with someone and face them again! We'll get this done fairly quickly, so that this competition doesn't suffer from delays like others we've seen. If you feel like you can bring it all, then go ahead and bring it!

Sign-ups are in this thread, of course, but it'll be nice if you can mention where you're from and a rough idea of your availability. We're going to get this underway as soon as we can. It's all you now!

Actually, that's a VERY good idea. That's why I haven't played too much online because EVERYONE snakes. I heard ALL the arguments for snaking. I don't care. The fact is, it shouldn't be allowed in any kind of tournament.

snaking is when people drift alot like they are always drifiting i always lose to that especially in worldwide battles

Nah, I was just waiting a couple days to see if anyone else signed up.

As it stands, we've got 12 people in the tournament. That actually works out pretty well, since we can have four races of three people each and then a final race to determine our winnar.

It'll be this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, everyone, so be prepared! I'll put the matches up sometime tomorrow.

I had an idea while going to sleep last night. I think whnever/if the gets set up. The pair of people who face eachother work out among themselves when they race. They have 4-7 days to work things out. When everyone has finished, just move on like so.

I should probably be available. I haven't tried my DS on the wireless in my dorm yet but it should work just fine.
