Yeah I started trying my hand at making spacescapes today and stuff like that. So, please tell me what you think and give me any criticisms and ideas for how to improve and stuff.

This is the only one i'll post for now, it was my first attempt at making a Sun.

I've told you pretty much my thoughts on it, but again, that's really fantastic. As for improvements, I think the glow around the sun is slightly artificial, but the sun itself is perfect. The blue planet is beautiful. I'd like to see a purpley-red planet like the other one you did if you do another. :D Keep it up, man. Kyon would be proud.

That's awesome. The sun's fine, dude. The stars look so edible.

Pretty :|

I agree with Rye on the sun though, the light around it needs to look more natural.

How did you make this?

it being a star, it should hurt to look at it, or everything else should be much darker. Very nice though:) Have you seen the star makin' tutorial at this guy's site? http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/

>>> I guess thats what some people call "matte painting"..
As for crits, the yellow blur arround the sun doesnt seem quite right.

Yes, the yellow glow seems kinda out of place. It works for the planet because it makes up its atmosphere, but there's no atmosphere around the sun.

i think you could take out some of the background. Normally, all the space shots i've seen only show dots of stars. That is, if you want it to be realistic. Otherwise, nicely done, DK.

oh and I agree, the yellow glare should gould.

Yea, like everyone else said, the yellow glow. The white/brightness outlining the star only adds to the effect.
Also, most stars aren't perfect circles--add some sun flares or something cool :).
