I'm pretty much just trying to confirm that I'm not the only person at the mo' who can't sign into MSN instant messenger.

I don't think someone who can't even get MSN to work should correct others.

Try this. (http://cow.neondragon.net/index.php/1632-Msn-Messenger-Signin-Problems)

Or use a better messenger client like Trillian.

No, really.

I tried those alternate hosts and they didn't work. I also tried using Gaim, and that didn't work either. I'm using the MSN Web Messenger right now, and that seems to be doing the trick. Damn intraweb.

I was having trouble signing into MSN today too. It was at about....6:40 this morning and then I had trouble signing in again at about 2:35 pm. I'm not sure if it was my internet or MSN itself, but I was about to shoot it >.> Anyway ^^ It's working perfectly fine at the moment so no worries for me!

BTW, I use Trillian too =P

I use Trillian for Yahoo, AIM, and IRC, but my version doesn't seem to support MSN.

You probably didn't tick the MSN option when you installed it. I managed to go without mine doing IRC for a while because I didn't specify it in install.

Well, I don't think it would work, anyway. Gaim doesn't do the trick, and it usually works in this kind of situation.

Or I could just get Trillian again, if it would make rubah happy. :P

EDIT: Yeah, no dice. >_>

I advise you to avoid Trillian at all costs. :p

Have you closed your MSN port on your router or modem or firewall by mistake?

MSN:
TCP: 1863,
UDP: 1503, 3389, 5004-65535

I advise you to use Trillian (or GAIM) at all costs. :p

If MSN Messenger and your router support uPNP, it might automatically open the correct ports for you.

MSN was a bishi all night last night for me and my GAIM as well.

I have both Trillian and Gaim and neither one worked.

MSN didn't start working for me again until this afternoon. A few other people told me they were having the same problem. Anyway, it seems to be done now.
