Well, it's not much to go on, but the translation seems pretty intelligent. And it's good to see they've got space to actually spell out things in the battle window; "Song of Resilience" beats "RslnceSng" any day.

Looks pretty good. Especially the pic with the Souleater ability being used. The image from Goldor's mansion wasn't bad, either.

It looks pretty good. I'm really pleased with the translation and the spell window in battle looks great. Can't wait to play it.

I want this game for many reasons. First, the original was awesome. Second, this is the kind of thing I used to dream about. Daydream about, I mean... And this way I can further complete my collection. Then I'll need only find a copy of FF5... probably on the Anthology. And I'll have a legitimate copy of every Final Fantasy game 1 to 9. that'll be the day... The day of AWESOME!

Admittedly I don't have FF10, but I also don't have a PS2.

I recently got the Japanese FFIII NDS system and game. It's amazing how good the CG scenes look on the DS. The game has been fun so far but I don't understand a lick of Japanese. I can't wait for the English version.

Since it seems there still isn't too much storyline or dialogue in the game, that makes the game quite import-friendly. All you have to know is what the menus do, and you're all set to play the game even in Japanese. :) I'm still waiting for the English, European version of the game rather than getting a Japanese DS and the Japanese version of the game.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo cartridges are region-free, Sephiroth. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That's why I want to import this...but I have to hold on until the North American release....:cat: :(

All handheld games are region-free. I plan on selling the Japanese version when I get the NA one.

I see. Though if the games are region-free, why did you get yourself a Japanese DS?

The system is the special FFIII crystal-white edition (http://www.newlaunches.com/archives/final_fantasy_iii_themed_nintendo_ds_lite.php) that is not available outside of Japan. I'm just a FF geek like that.

I don't think Ingus and Arc are that bad. You're able to name them when they join the party, anyway.

Speaking of which...I've never even encountered that funky katakana before? 0_o; That ku with a little u...wtf?

Uh, anyway, I'm pretty sure you can rename the characters, as per tradition.

I think I've seen YouTube video clips where the player has named their characters. According to FFIII DS Translation Wiki (http://ff3trans.pbwiki.com/), you get to rename Luneth, Arc, Refia and Ingus when you first run into them during the game.

The pictures look pretty good... although is that Arc as a White Mage Kitten (http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff3ds/screens/ff3ds118.jpg) in that one picture? >_>

If anything is going to make me get a DS, it's this. I hadn't seen the screenshots until today, but wow. I really like the character design.

Doga and Sara conversing in speech? This a new scene?

Doga and Sara conversing in speech? This a new scene?
No. It's the part where Dorga gets Sara, Desh, an Old Man, King Allus, and Cid to seal the power of the five dragons.

Yeah, I wouldn't get a DS Lite except maybe for this game. I'm still thinking about whether I should get it or not, but this game still seems impressive.

No, it's not a new scene. That scene was in the original game before you fought Zande. It's a pretty good moment in the game.

I guess I can say I'm excited to see my favorite FF game being noticed all over again. And thankfully, it's got the chibi effect that I always liked. x3 Let's hope the music is at least similar to the old version, too.
Now all I need is to conjure up an excuse for getting a DS for Christmas.
