Who is your favourite stand-up comedian?

Jack Dee and Billy Connolly are mine. I'm not sure if they are known much outside the UK. British humour is the best. I dont know what it is about American stand-up that iritates me, but it does. I think they play to the crowd too much and are forceful, whereas british comedians are a bit more subtle and sarcastic, which I like.

Jack Dee, Bill Bailey and Ed Byrne are the three that spring to mind, but there are plenty of other brilliant stand-ups that I seem to have forgotten for the moment.

I was quite keen on Peter Kay until it all became quoted to death. Still makes me laugh though. Bill Bailey's stand-up is awesome. Jimmy Carr isn't too bad either.

Ouch!

Mitch Hedberg, George Carlin, and Gilbert Gottfried are my favorites. Lewis Black is good too, and I like Dane Cook's CDs, but I hear he sucks live.

Oh yeah, Steven Lynch ftw.

I dont agree about British humour. I love Jack Dee, Billy Connerly, Peter Kay, Ronnie Barker, John Cleese, Victoria Wood and Jo Brand. Although Richard Pryor and Robin Willaims can have me in tears

Why wouldnt we know of them, they made there name in the UK, Ive seen Jack Dee in the Apollo theatre, he was hilarious indeed.

My favourite is probably.....Bill Bailey. Jimmy Carr is also really good, I saw him live, shame he got milked by Channel 4 :(

I like Dane Cook's CDs, but I hear he sucks live. That's quite backwards, actually.

Mitch Hedberg was the best thing to ever happen to stand-up comedy. It's really a shame that he's gone.
